Operation – for users and qualied contractors
CAUTION Burns
Observe the minimum clearances (see chapter
"Specication").
Never place any objects on top of the appliance.
Never lean any objects against it or place any ob-
jects between the appliance and the wall.
Never place any ammable, combustible or insulat-
ing objects or materials, such as laundry, blankets,
magazines, containers with oor polish or naphtha,
spray cans or similar, near the appliance.
CAUTION Burns
Parts of the appliance can get very hot and may
cause burns. Particular caution is advised when
children or vulnerable persons are present.
The grille also remains hot after the appliance is
switched off.
Never touch the quartz tubes.
Never adjust the pivoting angle of the appliance
in use.

Material losses
Ensure that the power cable is never in contact
with the hot appliance, other parts or sharp
edges.
The power cable may only be replaced (for ex-
ample if damaged) by a qualied contractor au-
thorised by the manufacturer, using an original
spare part.
Never cover the appliance.
2.3 Test symbols
See type plate. The type plate is located at the back of
the appliance.
3. Appliance description
The appliance only warms the air slightly. It is only when
it hits objects or the human body that the IR radiation is
converted into heat. You will feel the heat after just a few
seconds.
The radiant heater body is made from aluminium. The
protective grille and screws are made from stainless steel.
4. Operation
4.1 Starting the appliance without
Hirschmann plug-in connection
» Start the appliance by pushing the power plug into its
socket.
4.2 Switching the appliance on with
Hirschmann plug-in connection
» If not already in place, connect the power cable to
the cable with mains plug.
» Start the appliance by pushing the power plug into its
socket.
4.3 Switching OFF the appliance
» Switch off the appliance by pulling the power plug
from its socket.
5. Cleaning, care and
maintenance
Note
Never spray the appliance with water. Never im-
merse the appliance in water.
Never touch the quartz rods with your ngers,
otherwise spots can form or the quartz rods
might be destroyed.
» Isolate the appliance from the power supply and let it
cool down.
» A damp cloth is sufcient for cleaning the casing.
Never use abrasive or solvent-based cleaning
agents. Go over with a soft cloth.
» Regularly clean the reector through the grille using
a paint brush.
Let a contractor clean the reector if it
is heavily soiled to retain the full level of heat radia-
tion of this appliance.
The heating tube (gold tube) has a maximum service life
of approx. 5000 hours. It is subject to the operating con-
ditions, such as the relative humidity, switching frequency
and the orientation of the radiant heater.
6. What to do if...
6.1 ... you notice a smell
For a short time after rst taking the appliance into
use as well as after longer breaks in use, a smell
may develop.
6.2 ... the appliance does not radiate any
heat
Check whether the fuses/MCBs have blown/tripped
or are faulty.
If you cannot remedy the fault, notify your qualied con-
tractor. To facilitate and speed up your request, provide
the number from the type plate (000000-0000-000000).

7. Safety
Only a qualied contractor should carry out installation,
commissioning, maintenance and repair of the appliance.
7.1 General safety instructions
We guarantee trouble-free function and operational relia-
bility only if original accessories and spare parts intended
for the appliance are used.
7.2 Instructions, standards and regulations
Note
Observe all applicable national and regional regula-
tions and instructions.
Note
When installing the appliance in rooms with a bath
and/or shower, observe the safety zone in accord-
ance with the details on the type plate.
