5. Description
Gewa Andromeda IR-REC8 BED is an IR receiver with which it is possible to control
the functions of a motorized bed wirelessly via a Gewa IR transmitter. The receiver
has 8 relay outputs, which can control a maximum of 8 functions of a bed; the head
end, the foot end, knee part and the whole bed up/down.
The receiver is delivered pre-programmed for use with, for example, the IR transmitter
Gewa Control Omni who have pre-made pages for bed control. When necessary, the
receiver can be reprogrammed.
For the receiver there are finished custom split cables adapted to be connected to
beds with the following control units:
Linak 10 PIN MODULAR
Linak 8 PIN DIN
Dewert 5 PIN DIN
Dewert 13 PIN DIN
Depending on the control unit for the bed, the appropriate split cable should be used.
The split cable is attached to a terminal and can be replaced easily.
6. Connecting the IR receiver
Connect the split cable to the control unit of the bed, and then connect the receiver
and the manual control handle to the split cable.
Hang the receiver on the wheel frame of the bed or on the headboard. Put the receiver
in the direction with the best reception conditions (not towards a wall). On the inside of
the attachment component there is a Velcro to fasten the IR receiver in the right place.
Make sure no cables are squeezed! Fasten
the excess cables with the straps. Check that
the cables are long enough when the bed is
in its highest position.
7. Connecting an external detector
If necessary, an external detector can be
connected, for example, if the detector on the IR
receiver cannot be mounted so that the detector
is not obstructed. The detector is the actual eye
that receives the IR signal. The colors of the
wires are to be connected as shown in the figure
when connecting an external detector. Make sure
that the wires are correctly connected.
It is possible to connect up to 5 external detectors by connecting them in parallel to the
terminal.
Note! The range will be reduced if the detector eye is covered or obstructed in some
way, for example by curtains or furniture.
