3. Statutory warranty and warranty claims
Explanation of the statutory warranty
The manufacturer grants a 24-month warranty (“liability for defects”) on new goods (§ 439 and 476
German Civil Code (BGB)).
The warranty covers defects already inherent in the product at the time of purchase. If you discover
a defect, you can demand that the manufacturer repair or otherwise rectify the product.
If the seller is of the opinion that the defect only arose after the purchase, he must prove this during
the first six months. After six months, however, the burden of proof is reversed. Then the buyer has
to prove that the defect already existed at the time of purchase.
Explanation of guarantee
The guarantee is granted on a voluntary basis by the manufacturer (manufacturer's guarantee). The
duration and conditions of the guarantee can be freely determined by the manufacturer.
Manufacturer's guarantee
The manufacturer grants a guarantee of 2 years on frame breakage and 6 months on the entire bike
and its attachments. This guarantee does not cover parts subject to wear, e.g. battery, chains, pedals,
toothed belts, tyres, wheel rims, inner tubes, bearings, gear shift mechanism, brake pads, chain
sprockets, pinions, bottom bracket, gear shift and brake cables as well as paintwork and stickers. The
warranty does not cover damage caused by failure to observe the assembly instructions or by im-
proper use (jumps, stunts, tricks, wheelies, downhill). The bike is intended exclusively for private use.
Damage caused by rental, leasing or participation in competitions is fully excluded from the war-
ranty. Repairs, conversions or other modifications to this bike carried out independently and without
consulting the manufacturer will void the warranty. The warranty will also be voided if the mainte-
nance intervals prescribed in this manual are not observed and a thorough inspection of your bike is
not carried out at least once or twice a year.
The original proof of purchase must be kept together with the service booklet in order to substanti-
ate warranty claims. With the purchase, the guarantee terms are accepted in full and without qualifi-
cation.
The following conditions apply:
- No guarantee in the case of accident damage
- No guarantee in the case of improper use
- No guarantee in the case of use for purposes other than the intended use
- No guarantee in the case of damage resulting from improper assembly
- No guarantee if the inspection and maintenance intervals are not been observed
- No guarantee in the case of loss of parts and attachments

10
The wear parts that the manufacturer excludes from the guarantee include the following:
- Brake pads and brake discs, and wheel rims if the system is a rim brake system
- The complete drivetrain including rear derailleur, front derailleur, crank assembly and chain
- Battery
Case examples of the statutory warranty
Suspension forks
Case:
You buy your bike online and have final assembly carried out in a specialist workshop. After about
two weeks, you notice a knocking in the suspension forks when riding on cobbled roads.
Cause:
One of the springs in the suspension forks has broken.
Procedure and claims:
Contact our Service department via the service form. This is clearly a case for a warranty claim, as it
can be assumed that the suspension forks already had a defect at the time of delivery.
Case:
You buy your bike online and carry out final assembly correctly yourself.
As you often ride very hilly routes at high speed with small jumps, you notice after two months that
the suspension forks are sagging.
Cause:
One of the springs in the suspension forks has broken.
Procedure and claims:
Although you are within the statutory warranty period, you have no warranty and/or guarantee
claims here as this form of use not an intended use.
Battery
Case:
You buy your bike online and have final assembly carried out in a specialist workshop. After three
months, the battery output becomes so weak that you only ride 5 km.
Cause:
Malfunction in one or more cells or in the BMS.
Procedure and claims:
Contact our Service department via the service form. This is very probably a case for a warranty
claim, as it can be assumed that the battery already had less than 100% function at the time of deliv-
ery. The warranty claim can only be upheld, however, if the battery does not have any signs of me-
chanical damage that could have been caused by improper use or a fall.
Case:
You buy your bike online and carry out final assembly correctly yourself.
After 20 months, the battery can no longer be charged.
Cause:
Malfunction in one or more cells or in the BMS.

11
Procedure and claims:
Although you are within the statutory warranty period, you have no warranty and/or guarantee
claims here.
The statutory warranty covers damage that existed at the time of delivery. As it has been working for
20 months, it cannot be assumed that the damage already existed at the time of delivery.
A claim under guarantee is also not possible as a lithium ion battery is a wear part. Wear parts are
fundamentally excluded from the manufacturer's guarantee.
4. Theft prevention
I M P O R T A N T
- Use a suitable bike lock to protect your bike from theft.
- If possible, park your bike only in designated areas, preferably in heavily frequented areas.
- Register your bike with the frame number free of charge with the police. For this, fill in your
bike passport that you will find on p. 76 of this operating manual.
- As a precaution, check whether your household insurance covers the theft of pedelecs, and
what the conditions for this are.
5. Performance tuning forbidden
F O R B I D D E N
Modifications and/or performance tuning are strictly
prohibited!
In the event of an accident/damage (without insurance
cover), the rider is liable with his entire private assets!
Performance optimisation (tuning) of EPACs is illegal. According to the German Road Traffic Licensing
Regulations (StVZO), an EPAC whose motor accelerates the bike to more than the permitted 25 km/h
is considered a motor vehicle. This requires an insurance number plate, an operating permit (ABE)
and a corresponding driving licence (driving licence class AM or class B).
Operating Manual Folding bike with electric drive up to 250 W
16.07.2021 REV 2.1
12
The EPACs sold by the manufacturer do not have an operating permit as is the case, for example,
with S-pedelecs. Performance optimisation thus has the following consequences for you:
- Tuning is considered a significant modification of the EPAC.
- The manufacturer's declaration of conformity is voided.
- No warranty or defect liability claims can be made.
- Riding without an operating permit can result in a fine.
6. Recommendation
The manufacturer recommends taking out private liability insurance for riding an EPAC!
7. Safety
Intended use
N O T E
The intended use implies reading and understanding the operating
manual!
Mountain bikes are intended for the transport of one person. Due to the fact that they generally do
not have the safety features required by the road traffic licensing regulations, mountain bikes are in-
tended only for use off public roads. Mountain bikes are not suitable for the following:
- Jumps
- Wheelies
- Stunts
- Downhill
- Riding down steps
- Riding through deep water
- Participation in sporting events
The intended use also implies observing the recommended maintenance intervals and reading and
understanding this manual.

13
Unauthorised modifications forbidden
F O R B I D D E N
Modifications are permitted only with the consent of the manufac-
turer! Modifications not approved by the manufacturer will void the
declaration of conformity.
Unauthorised modifications or changes to the bike can result in serious injuries and voiding of the
guarantee. This applies in particular to manipulating and modifying the electric motor and control
unit.
Never modify the control unit or electric motor.
Attachment of luggage racks and/or trailers
The attachment of luggage racks and/or trailer couplings is only permitted by agreement with the
manufacturer.
Unauthorised modifications or attachments of load carriers of any kind without the consent of the
manufacturer will void the declaration of conformity supplied and the entire risk must be borne by
the user.
Minimum age
From a legal point of view, there is no minimum age for the use of an EPAC. We recommend, how-
ever, that it should be used only by persons over the age of 14.
Personal qualifications
This manual is intended for instructed riders. The rider should have the following know-how and ex-
perience:
- The rider has been instructed in the use of the bike by a dealer
- The rider knows that improper use of the bike can result in accidents
- The rider can use the bike in accordance with this manual
Personal protective equipment
Riding a bike can result in serious injuries or even death.
- When riding, always wear an approved helmet and follow the manufacturer's instructions in
the respective manual for adjustment, use and care of the helmet.
- Always wear sturdy shoes with a non-slip sole (e.g. profiled rubber sole).
- The wearing of gloves is recommended.
- Always wear tight-fitting clothing to avoid getting tangled up in the bike or objects on the
side of the road or track.
- Always wear goggles (clear) to protect the eyes from dirt, dust and insects.

Basic safety instructions
Wear a helmet
We recommend that you always wear a suitable bicycle helmet when riding. The right fit and the
right size of helmet is crucial!
Avoid serious injuries or death due to mechanical defects and improper use of the bike
Riding a bike can result in serious injury or death due to a mechanical defect or improper use of the
bike.
- Always carry out a safety check (see section Riding your bike) before riding your bike.
- Familiarise yourself with the brakes, pedals and gears before riding.
- Always ride at a speed appropriate to the riding conditions.
Avoid electric shocks or explosions due to improper handling of the battery and charger.
F O R B I D D E N
Improper handling of the battery and charger can result in an electric shock or explosion. This may
cause serious injury or even death.
- Use only the battery included in the scope of supply.
- Never connect the positive terminal to the negative terminal of the battery.
- Protect the battery from direct sunlight.
- Do not dismantle the battery.
- Use only the charger included in the scope of supply to charge the battery.
- Use the charger only indoors.

17
- The plug of the charger is the disconnection device from the electrical mains. Ensure that the
plug socket is located near the charger and is easily accessible.
- Connect the charger only to a grounded 230 V mains plug socket.
- Keep the metal contacts clean; clean them with a soft and dry cloth, if necessary.
- Do not charge a battery with visible damage, e.g. a broken battery casing.
- Do not use a battery with visible damage, e.g. a broken battery casing.
- Do not drop the battery.
- Charge the battery in a temperature range between 10° and 30°C.
- Ensure that the charger is used only by persons who do not have limited physical, sensory or
mental abilities.
Avoid fire or explosion hazards
F O R B I D D E N
Moisture, electrically conductive soiling or mechanical damage can cause a short circuit. This could
lead to a fire or explosion of the battery.
- Clean the electric motor and the controller only from the outside with a damp sponge. Never
use a high-pressure cleaner.
- If these components are accidentally completely immersed in water, disconnect the motor
from the battery immediately and do not use it again until it has been inspected by the man-
ufacturer.
Avoid serious injuries due to contact of body parts with the components of the bike
C A U T I O N
When riding, parts of the body or other objects may come into contact with the sharp teeth of the
sprockets, the moving chain, the rotating pedals and cranks and the rotating wheels of the bike. This
can lead to serious injuries.
- Take care when riding that parts of your body do not come into contact with these compo-
nents of the bike.

18
Avoid serious injuries caused by damaged components
When riding off-road or over kerbs, the electric motor, cranks or bottom bracket may touch the
ground and be damaged. This can lead to serious injuries.
- Use the bike only on the approved surfaces.
- If you encounter obstacles, dismount and lift the bike over the obstacle.
- In the event of damage, have the bike inspected by a dealer.
Avoid serious injuries or death in wet weather
C A U T I O N
Wet weather affects road grip, braking behaviour and visibility for both cyclists and all other road us-
ers. In wet weather, the stopping power of your brakes (as well as the brakes of all other road users)
is significantly reduced. In addition, the tread pattern does not grip nearly as well as on dry roads.
This makes speed control more difficult and increases the risk of losing control over the bike. This
may cause serious injuries or even death.
- Always ride slowly in wet weather.
- Always brake carefully and with foresight in wet weather.
- Switch off the electric motor or ride carefully with minimum motor assistance.
Avoid serious injuries or death in twilight or at night
N O T E
Riding in twilight or at night is more dangerous than during the day. A cyclist is very difficult to recog-
nise for other road users and this can result in serious injuries or even death.
- Avoid riding in twilight or at night, if possible.
- Always ride slowly.
- Always ride with bike lights and reflectors.
- Always avoid dark areas and areas with heavy or fast traffic.
- Always avoid road obstacles.
- Ride on familiar routes, if possible.

19
Avoid serious injuries or death caused by damaged, bent or loose reflectors and lights
Bike reflectors catch the light from street lamps and car headlights and reflect it so that you can be
recognised as a cyclist. Damaged, bent or loose reflectors can result in you being poorly recognised
by other road users. This may cause serious injuries or even death.
- Check your reflectors and their secure attachment at regular intervals.
- Have damaged, bent or loose reflectors replaced by your dealer.
Avoid serious injuries caused by riding off-road or over kerbs
C A U T I O N
Riding off-road or over kerbs at inappropriate speeds can cause you to fall. This may cause serious
injury or even death.
- Always ride at a speed appropriate to the riding conditions.
Avoid serious injuries or death due to replacing components or adding accessories
Numerous components and accessories are available that can improve the comfort, performance
and appearance of your bike. You add components or accessories at your own risk. It is possible that
these components or accessories have not been tested for compatibility, reliability or safety by the
bike manufacturer. Unconfirmed compatibility, reliability or safety and improper installation, use and
maintenance of bike components or accessories can lead to serious injuries or even death.
- Always consult your dealer before installing, using and maintaining the component.
- Always read and follow the instructions for use supplied with the accessories.
Avoid serious injury due to inadequate maintenance, cleaning and care
Improper maintenance, care and cleaning can result in injuries or even death.
- Carry out only the activities listed in the maintenance plan.
- Use only use commercially available lubricants and
cleaning agents.
- Have other maintenance work and repairs carried out
by a qualified dealer.

20
Avoid burns
C A U T I O N
Bike components (e.g. brakes, wheels, etc.) can get hot while riding. Touching these components can
result in burns.
- Allow hot components to cool down before working on them or wear heat-resistant protec-
tive gloves.
Avoid injuries to your legs
Injuries to your legs can occur if the pedal spacing (Q-fac-
tor) is too small or too large. There is a risk that riders will
have problems with the crankset installed.
Should riding feel uncomfortable due to the pedal spacing,
seek advice from the manufacturer and have your crankset
changed, if necessary.
Avoid vibrations
Incorrect installation, wear and overloading (e.g. electric motor touching the ground when riding
over bumps or kerbs) or loose parts can cause the electric motor to no longer run smoothly.
- Use the bike only on approved surfaces.
- Check the drive unit for backlash-free and smooth running before every trip.

Scope of supply
- Pre-assembled bike with battery
- Two pedals (not mounted)
- Battery charger
- Two keys (keep a spare key in a safe place) for battery removal
- An operating manual in printed form
Pedal assistance
Electric motor
The installed electric motor assists you when pedalling. The controller allows you to select how much
assistance you want the electric motor to provide. Different levels are available for this. The electric
motor assists you up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
Battery
A rechargeable battery is needed to power the pedal assistance. It is integrated into the down tube
of the frame.
The battery can be removed from the frame for charging using the appropriate key. Use only the
charger included in the scope of supply to charge the battery. The battery is equipped with the fol-
lowing connectors and indicators:
- Charging socket
- USB port
- ON/OFF button
- Lock for locking the battery
- Folding handle for pulling the battery out of the frame
Like most large rechargeable batteries, lithium ion batteries are classified as hazardous
goods under shipping regulations. If the battery container is attached to the bike,
transport by land and water is permitted. For transport by air, the regulations for hazard-
ous goods apply. (In this case, please check the local shipping regulations.)
Defective batteries must NOT be shipped and must be disposed of in the prescribed man-
ner!
Controller
The bike has a controller for individual adjustment of the pedal assistance provided by the motor.
The control element for the controller is mounted on the handlebar. The controller calculates the
level of motor assistance, depending on the set assistance level, speed and pedal force. Pedal assis-
tance is active up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h. No assistance is possible at higher speeds.
Suspension
The seat post has a suspension system. It serves to protect the rider and the bike from shocks and
vibrations caused by the contact with the ground.

Brakes
The brakes are used to control the speed and to brake the bike to a standstill.
V-brakes
Mechanical rim brakes known as V-brakes are installed on the front and rear wheels. With V-
brakes, the brake pads are pressed against the wheel rim from both sides via a cable to
brake the wheel. The brake pads are normally made of hard rubber and are subject to wear.
You operate the brakes via the brake levers mounted on the handlebars.
Brake pads (check adjustment)
CABLE GUARD
Is attached to the left brake arm
and connects the two arms so that
they move towards the wheel rim
when the brake lever is pulled.
BRAKE PAD ADJUSTING BOLT This
bolt attaches the brake pad to the
brake arm and can be loosened in
order to adjust the angle of the
brake pad
SPRING TENSION SCREW

cable. It can be loosened to
allow the distance be-
tween the brake arms and
the wheel rim to be ad-
justed.

Ensure that the position of brake pads
corresponds to the illustration on the left
with the green tick mark.
The correct position of all the brake pads
is essential for a proper and reliable brak-
ing behaviour.
The correct position of the brake pads
also ensures lower wear on the brake
pads and the braking surfaces of the
wheel rims.
Ensure that the brake pads have the correct distance to the wheel rim (see figure below).
The distance from the wheel rim also influences the braking behaviour and the wear,

Brake force fine adjustment
On each of the brake handles there is an adjustment screw with which the tension of the brake cable
can be finely adjusted. Turn this adjustment screw in anticlockwise direction to increase the tension
and in clockwise direction to decrease the tension. There is a locking nut on the adjusting screw that
prevents the setting from changing by itself.
Gear shift
Your bike is equipped with derailleur gears. The following terms are used in the following texts:
Changing down means changing to a lower gear where it is easier to pedal. Changing up means
changing to a higher gear where it is harder to pedal.

Your derailleur has the following components:
- A sprocket cassette in the rear wheel (6-speed bolt-on cassette)
- A rear derailleur
- A single crank with sprocket
- A drive chain
- A shift lever (twist grip shifter)
C A U T I O N
The prerequisite for a proper gear change of the derailleur is that the drive chain is moving forward
and is at least slightly under tension (not under load!). A suitable gear for the respective riding situa-
tion can be selected with the rear sprockets. If, for example, you want to ride up a slope using less
pedal power, change down. This is done as follows: Change to a larger sprocket with the rear derail-
leur. If you want, for example, to increase your speed on level ground and use more power, change
up.
Experiment with changing up and down to get a feel for different sprocket combinations. Practice
changing gears in traffic situations where there are no obstacles or hazards until you are comfortable
with it.
The less strain you put on your drive motor and the more power you put into the pedals
yourself, the longer your battery and the entire system will last!

10. Unpacking and checking delivery
W A R N I N G
Proceed as follows to unpack your bike:
- Open the cardboard box.
- Take the bike out of the cardboard box.
- Take the pedals packed separately in a plastic bag out of the cardboard box.
- Take the charger for the battery out of the cardboard box.
- Take the two keys for installing and removing the battery out of the cardboard box.
- Check the scope of supply.
- Do not allow children to play with the plastic bags. Risk of suffocation!
- Dispose of the packaging material according to the local guidelines and regulations.
11. Assembling components of the bike
Your bike is pre-assembled on delivery. The following components still have to be fitted (or have
them fitted) and must be adjusted and/or checked (or have them adjusted/checked).
- The handlebar has to be adjusted
- The saddle position and height has to be adjusted
- The pedals have to be screwed on
- The fine adjustment of the gear shift mechanism has to be checked and adjusted, if neces-
sary
- It is essential to check the function of the brakes

Checking the stem
!! IMPORTANT!!
Check the fixing of the stem before the riding
your bike for the first time.
To do this, fold the stem down as shown sche-
matically on the left.
During prolonged transport with the associated
constant vibrations, it is possible that a tight-
ened screw may have come loose. It is therefore
essential to check that the clamping bolt on the
stem is absolutely tight; retighten it, if neces-
sary!
Handlebar adjustment
Handlebar height
Handlebar height is crucial for your back posture
when cycling.
To avoid back and upper body pain, you should adjust
your handlebars so that you can ride comfortably
without straining your back.
To do this, open the quick-release fastener on the
stem and pull the handlebars up or push them down
until the desired height is reached and close the
quick-release fastener again.
In order to set the necessary tensioning force on the
quick-release fastener, there is a knurled nut on the
quick-release fastener with which the tensioning
force can be adjusted.
Make sure that the quick-release fastener closes com-
pletely and that the tension lever does not stick out
from the stem!

34
Handlebar position (grip ergonomics)
Depending on the position of your handlebars, the grip may become uncomfortable. For example, if
the handlebars are twisted too far upwards, the forearms will quickly become tired. If, however, the
handlebars are turned too far downwards, your wrists are subjected to a great deal of strain that be-
comes noticeable during prolonged riding from a numb feeling in your fingers. Proceed as follows to
adjust the grip position to suit your needs:
- Loosen the quick-release fastener of the handlebar clamp.
- Turn the handlebars up or down until you reach the desired grip position.
- Then close the quick-release fastener of the handlebar clamp again. In order to set the nec-
essary tensioning force on the quick-release fastener, there is a knurled nut on the quick-re-
lease fastener with which the tensioning force can be adjusted.
Make sure that the quick-release fastener closes completely and that the tension lever does
not stick out from the stem!
If you still feel numbness in your fingers during longer rides even after adjusting the han-
dlebar position, your handlebars are still too far down. Turn the handlebars slightly up-
wards and test again to see whether the numbness occurs.

Adjusting the saddle
Saddle height
C A U T I O N
A good presetting for your seat height is the 109% principle. Measure your crotch height and multiply
it by 1.09. If you have a crotch height of about 70 cm, this gives you a seat height of about 76 cm.
This 76 cm should then be set from the top of the saddle to the top of the pedal when the pedal arm
is vertically down.
Then check the seat height again and adjust it, if necessary. Proceed as follows:
- Sit on the saddle
- Place your heel on the pedal
- Your knee should be fully extended when your heel is on the pedal
- It should then not be possible to extend your knee completely when you change your foot
position from heel to the ball of the foot.
Proceed as follows to adjust the saddle height:
Open the quick-release fastener of the
seat post clamp
Close the quick-release fastener of the
seat post clamp
- Open the saddle clamp
- Push the saddle up or down
- Close the saddle clamp again
In order to set the correct clamping force on the seat post, there is a knurled nut on the saddle clamp
that can the tightened and loosened as necessary,

36
Saddle position
As a rule, the correct saddle position is parallel to the road. However, this setting may differ from
your personal preference. Adjusting the saddle position to your personal preference is explained be-
low.
Proceed as follows to adjust the saddle position or saddle angle:
- Loosen the clamping screw under the saddle until the angle of the saddle can be adjusted
with a rocking movement.
- Adjust the saddle so that it is horizontal or in the position that is most comfortable for you.
- If necessary, the saddle can also be adjusted lengthwise to reduce or increase the distance
between the saddle and the handlebars
- Finally retighten the clamping screw securely

Fitting the pedals
A T T E N T I O N
The pedals have different threads. That is
why the pedals are marked L and R. The pe-
dal marked L must be fitted to the crank on
the left-hand side of the bike in the direc-
tion of travel. The pedal marked R must be
fitted to the crank on the right-hand side of
the bike in the direction of travel.
Proceed as follows to fit the right-hand pedal on the
bike:
- Screw the stud of the pedal marked R into the
threaded bore in the right-hand pedal arm in
clockwise direction.
- Tighten the pedal in clockwise direction using
the wrench supplied.
Proceed as follows to fit the left-hand pedal on the bike:
- Screw the stud of the pedal marked L into the threaded
bore in the left-hand crank in anti-clockwise direction.
- Tighten the pedal in anti-clockwise direction using the
wrench supplied.

12. Before riding the bike for the first time
The correct adjustment of the bike is crucial for safety, performance and comfort while riding. Mak-
ing changes to your bike for a correct adjustment of the bike to suit your body and the riding condi-
tions requires experience, expertise and special tools. Always have bike adjustments made by a spe-
cialist if you do not have the know-how yourself. Even if you have experience, expertise and tools
yourself, have a specialist check your work before riding.

Charging the battery
W A R N I N G
The battery must be charged in a temperature range between 10°C and 30°C.
Charging the battery when it is removed from the bike generally leads to a slightly longer
battery life, as the heat generated during the charging process can be more easily re-
leased into the air by the battery.
You can charge your battery in two ways: With the battery installed in the bike frame or with the bat-
tery removed from the bike frame.
Charging with battery on bike
To charge your battery while it is installed on the bike, proceed as follows:
- Open the rubber cover behind which the charging socket for the charger is located. You will
find it on the left-hand side (looking in the direction of travel) of your bike.
- Switch off the battery for charging. The switch for this can be found directly next to the
charging socket behind the rubber cover.
- Plug the mains plug of the charger into a suitable 230 V mains plug socket. An LED on your
charger indicates whether the battery is being charged and when it is fully charged. The LED
is green before you plug the charger cable into the battery. As soon as you plug the charger
cable into the battery, the LED changes to red and the charging cycle has started. After some
time, the LED changes back to green. This means that the battery is fully charged (normal
charging time from 20% to approx. 100% charge capacity is 5 to 6 hours). If the LED does not
change from green to red when you plug the charger cable into the battery, this can indicate
a defect in the battery or charger.
- After charging, pull the charger cable out of the charging socket. Charging is completed.

Checking the tyre pressure
There are essentially three different types of bike tyre valve (see figure below):
Car valve
Schrader valve
American valve
Presta valve
Sclaverand valve
French valve
Dunlop valve
Wood’s valve
Bike valve
The permissible tyre inflation pressure is indicated on the side of the tyre. A pressure
range is given. Test which tyre inflation pressure is best for you. We recommend a bicycle
stand pump with pressure gauge for checking and correcting the tyre inflation pressure.
Note for Presta valve:
- Loosen the union nut by one to two turns.
- Press the valve end briefly in the direction of the wheel rim. If there is air in the tyre, it will
escape audibly.
- Screw the union nut tight again after inflating.
Proceed as follows to check the tyre pressure:
- Unscrew the valve cap from the bike valve.
- If necessary, follow the specific instructions for the Presta valve.
- Attach the connection of the stand pump intended for the valve type to the bike valve.
The pressure gauge shows the current tyre inflation pressure.
- Correct an incorrect tyre inflation pressure.
- Finally remove the connection of the stand pump from the bike valve.
- Screw the valve cap onto the bike valve.

Actuating the brakes
Brakes are there to control speed, not only to stop the bike. The maximum braking power of the
wheels is available just before the wheels "lock" (stop) and then skid. As soon as the tyre skids, you
lose most of the braking power as well as any control over the bike. You need to practice braking and
stopping smoothly and without locking the wheels. This technique is known as progressive brake
modulation.
Your bike is equipped with a front wheel brake and a rear wheel brake. The function of the left brake
lever here is for the front wheel brake and that of the right brake lever for the rear wheel brake.
Pull the brake lever towards the handlebar and gradually increase the braking force.
When you feel the wheel starting to lock, reduce the braking force so that the wheel can just con-
tinue to turn and not lock.

17. Riding your bike
Always wear a bicycle helmet that meets the latest certification standards when riding. Follow the
manufacturer's instructions in the respective manual for adjustment, use and care of the helmet. A
large proportion of serious injuries caused by cycling are head injuries that could have been avoided
with a helmet.
In order to be allowed to safely participate in public road traffic with your bike, your bike has to be
equipped with the following according to the road traffic licensing regulations:
- A bell
- Two independent brakes
- A white headlight at the front
- A white reflector at the front
- A red rear light

- A red reflector at the rear
- Yellow reflectors on the front and rear of the pedals
- Two yellow reflectors in the spokes of each wheel offset by 180° from one another, alterna-
tively reflective white stripes on the sides of the tyres.
Battery-operated front lights and rear lights are permitted in Germany only if they have StVzO ap-
proval.
Check the following points before each trip:
- The battery is charged
- The brakes, chain guard, mudguards are functioning correctly
- The handlebar is securely fastened and correctly adjusted
- The saddle is securely fastened and correctly adjusted
- The pedals are securely attached
- The wheels are securely attached
- The tyres are in good condition
- The tyre inflation pressure is set correctly
- The lights are working and correctly adjusted
- The gear shift mechanism is working and correctly adjusted
- Bolts, nuts and quick-release fasteners are securely tightened
Tips for safe riding
- Observe all regional traffic laws and cycling regulations. Observe the regulations regarding
the registration of bikes and riding on pavements, laws on the use of cycle lanes, etc. Ob-
serve the regulations regarding helmets and child seats as well as special traffic rules for cy-
clists. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the laws and regulations and to
comply with them.
- You share the road or cycle path with motorised road users, pedestrians as well as other cy-
clists. Respect their rights. Always switch on your lights.
- Ride with foresight. Always assume that others may not see you. Look ahead and be pre-
pared for the following:
- Vehicles braking or turning onto your road in front of you and vehicles coming from behind.
- Opening doors of parked vehicles.
- Pedestrians stepping into the road.
- Children or pets playing near the road.
- Potholes, gullies, railway tracks, expansion joints, road or pavement structures, debris or
other obstacles that may cause you to swerve into the opposite lane or that may become en-
tangled in your bike or otherwise cause you to lose control and cause an accident.
- Ride in the designated cycle lanes and cycle paths or as close to the edge of the road as pos-
sible, in the direction of traffic flow or as provided for by regional regulations.
- Stop at stop signs and traffic lights. Brake at road junctions and look both ways. Remember
that cyclists are always the weaker road users. Cyclists always lose out in traffic collisions
with cars.
- Use standard hand signals when turning or stopping.
- Never wear headphones when riding. These drown out traffic sounds and sirens, distract you
from the traffic and can get caught up in the moving parts of the bike, causing you to lose
control.
Operating Manual Folding bike with electric drive up to 250 W
16.07.2021 REV 2.1
60
- Never allow people to ride with you. Exceptions here are small children, who must wear an
approved helmet and be transported in a correctly fitted child seat or child trailer. Follow the
manufacturer's recommendations for the child seat or child trailer regarding weight re-
strictions.
- Never transport anything that could obstruct your vision, interfere with your full control of
the bike or become entangled with the moving parts of the bike.
- Never allow yourself to be towed by another vehicle.
- Do not perform stunts, wheelies or jumps. This may result in injury or cause damage to your
bike.
- Never weave through traffic or make movements that may surprise other road users.
- Ride with foresight and give way.
- Never ride your bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- If possible, avoid riding in bad weather, in poor visibility, at dusk, at night or when very tired.
This all increases the risk of accidents.
Riding with pedal assistance
If you have previously ridden a bike without pedal assistance, you should first get used to the feeling
of riding with pedal assistance in a traffic-free area. The pedal assistance is only active when it is
switched on and you are pedalling. Activation of the pedal assistance is unfamiliar at first, but you
will quickly get used to this support. Sit on the saddle before you start pedalling. Start with the low-
est level of pedal assistance and practice everyday riding situations, such as:
- Starting
- Accelerating
- Braking
- Cornering.
It is possible that the pedal assistance may continue to assist for a short time after you have stopped
pedalling. For this reason, stop pedalling earlier than on a bike without pedal assistance, e.g. before
bends, before turning or before red lights. Before stopping, shift to a gear that allows you to start off
without problems.
Operating Manual Folding bike with electric drive up to 250 W
04.02.2022 REV 2.1
61
The achievable range with the support of the pedal assistance depends, for example, on the follow-
ing factors:
- Total weight of the bike including rider and luggage
- Selected assistance level
- Tyre pressure
- Battery charge state
- Route profile
- Weather
- Tailwind, headwind
- Your own pedalling effort.
To achieve the furthest possible range, proceed as follows:
- Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
- Ensure that the tyre inflation pressure is set correctly.
- Avoid the use of the pedal assistance on flat or downhill stretches of road, or select a low
level of assistance.
- Select the appropriate gear for the riding situation.
- Drive with foresight to avoid unnecessary stops and the associated starting.
Riding without pedal assistance
You can use your bike even without pedal assistance. To do this, you only need to switch off the pe-
dal assistance. You can then use your bike as a bike without pedal assistance, e.g. when the battery is
empty.

the wheel rim.
Furthermore, in line with the enclosed declaration of conform-
ity, no modifications to the bike are permitted without the
manufacturer's consent!
Can I connect any trailer to
my bike?

Question
Answer
Why do my brakes squeak?
Squeaking brakes are not a sign of a defect, which is why the
function is usually guaranteed. Your current trip can therefore
be safely completed. Nevertheless, the brakes should then be
properly cleaned and adjusted. We recommend that you visit a
specialist workshop for this. However, the costs for this must
be borne by you.
What tyre pressure should I
set for my tyres?
The tyre pressure is indicated on the side wall of each tyre. The
tyre pressure has to be set accordingly.
How should I care for my
suspension fork and its
shock absorber?
To ensure the functionality of the suspension and shock ab-
sorber systems, a highly effective lubricant (e.g. Brunox)
should be applied in the area of the sealing lips. The lubricant
reduces the “breakaway torque” which is why the systems can
work better.
To do this, first thoroughly clean the sliding tubes of the sus-
pension fork and shock absorber, then coat them with a small
amount of the lubricant.
Attention: When applying the lubricant, make sure that it does
not come into contact with the brakes. The braking effect can
be lost and there is a risk of injury.
How long will my bike chain
last?
The function of a chain is usually guaranteed up to a maximum
distance of 2000 km to 2500 km. If this range is exceeded, a
chain can become slightly elongated and may damage the
sprocket with further use. For this reason it is recommended
that the chain be replaced at regular intervals. On longer tours
in the mountains, it is advisable to take a spare chain and a
combination tool with a chain riveter so that a damaged chain
can be repaired or replaced quickly.
Why can the display not be
switched on?
Check whether all the plugs between display and controller are
correctly connected.
What should I do if an error
code appears on the dis-
play?
Contact the manufacturer, indicate the error code and de-
scribe the problem.
What causes the fault for
error code 30?
It means that there is a communication error between the dis-
play and the controller. Try to remedy the fault and/or contact
the manufacturer.

20. Transporting your bike
W A R N I N G
- Use an approved commercially available bike carrier for your vehicle to transport your bike.
- If you do not have a bike carrier and the bike has to be transported in the boot, ensure that
the bike does not lie on the derailleur.
21. Care and maintenance of your bike
Care of the battery
The battery is designed for roughly 500 charging cycles. After 500 charging cycles, the bat-
tery no longer has 100% capacity. The capacity after 500 charging cycles is only around
60%. A charging cycle involves the charging of the battery from 0% to 100%. Charging the
battery from 99% to 100% does not count as a full charge cycle, only as 1% of a full charge
cycle. 500 charging cycles usually take more than two years.
You can store the battery with a charge level of 75 % for about five months without re-
charging. At a charge level of 50%, roughly three months.
In order not to shorten the service life of your battery, proceed as follows:
- Charge the battery when the charge level is between 30% and 50% after riding.
- Ensure that the battery does not become completely discharged (deep discharge).
This can happen if the battery is completely discharged and the bike is then parked for several days.
To store the battery for longer than two months, proceed as follows:
- Remove the battery.
- Make sure that the battery has no visible damage, e.g. a broken casing.
- Fully charge the battery before storing it for a prolonged period.
- Store the battery in a dry place with low humidity.
- Maintain a temperature between 5°C and 20°C.
- Protect the battery from extreme fluctuations in temperature.
- Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight or heat, e.g. when stored in a warehouse.
- Ensure that the stored battery is charged at least every three months.

Adjusting the stops
The purpose of the stops is to prevent the chain from jumping off the chain ring and to ensure that
the chain runs smoothly on the smallest and largest sprocket.
These stops are adjusted as follows:
- Shift the rear derailleur to the smallest sprocket.
- Now turn the crank while stationary so that the chain moves. Ask a friend or relative to hold
the bike up a little at the rear of the luggage carrier so that the rear wheel can turn freely.
- Now adjust the stop for the smallest sprocket so that the chain does not jump off the small-
est sprocket and the chain runs smoothly by turning the stop screw marked with an “H”.
Turning the screw in clockwise direction moves the rear derailleur towards the rear wheel,
turning it in anti-clockwise direction moves the rear derailleur away from the rear wheel.
- When the stop for the smallest sprocket has been adjusted, shift the rear derailleur to the
largest sprocket.
- Adjust the stop so that the chain does not jump over the largest sprocket and the chain runs
smoothly and without chatter when pedalling.
- To adjust the stop, turn the stop screw marked with an "L” in clockwise direction to move the
rear derailleur away from the rear wheel, or in anti-clockwise direction to move the rear de-
railleur towards the rear wheel.
- When the stops have been adjusted, shift the rear derailleur back to the smallest sprocket.
- Now shift up all gears one by one.
- If the chain has problems changing shifting to larger sprockets at one or more sprockets, the
shift cable tension is too low.
- Shift the rear derailleur back to the smallest sprocket.
- Turn the nut for fine adjustment in anti-clockwise direction (seen from the rear of the rear
derailleur, i.e. looking in the direction of travel) to increase the shift cable tension. The ad-
justing nut should turn by two clicks.
- Now try to shift up all gears again one by one. Should there still be problems with the chain
shifting to larger sprockets, repeat the step with the adjusting nut to increase shift cable ten-
sion a little more.
- If the chain has no problems with shifting to larger sprockets at first, but has problems shift-
ing to the next smaller sprocket, the shift cable tension has to be reduced slightly. Proceed in
the same way as for increasing the shift cable tension. Turn the adjusting nut in clockwise di-
rection to reduce the tension slightly.
Adjusting the derailleur can take time and patience. Allow yourself enough time for these adjust-
ments.
