Tethering & Portable Hotspot
You can share your device‟s data capabilities through tethering or by activating the mobile
hotspot feature to create a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

Share Your Devices Data Connection via USB Cable
You can access the Internet on your computer via the USB tethering feature of your device. The
feature needs data connection on a mobile network and may result in data charges.
Note: Make sure the USB storage is turned off before using this feature. If the USB storage is
already turned on, flick down the status bar and touch Turn off USB storage > Turn off
USB storage.
1. Connect your device to the computer with the provided USB cable. For the first time, a
window will pop up and prompt you to install the driver.
2. Double click the executable file (.exe) in the window and follow the prompts to finish the
driver installation on the computer.
Note: If the window doesn‟t pop up automatically for some reason (for example, the firewall of
your computer may block it), please open the new CD-ROM drive on your computer
manually and find the executable file to run it.
3. Press
> , and then touch Settings > Wireless & networks > Tethering &
portable hotspot.
4. Select the USB tethering check box. A new network connection will be created on the
computer.
Use Your Device as a Wi-Fi Hotspot
You can share your device‟s data connection with up to five devices at once, by turning your
phone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The feature needs data connection on a mobile network
and may result in data charges.
Note: When the portable Wi-Fi hotspot feature is enabled, you cannot access the Internet with
any application on your phone via its Wi-Fi connection.
1. Press
> , and then touch Settings > Wireless & networks > Tethering &
portable hotspot > Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
2. Touch Configure Wi-Fi hotspot to enter the hotspot settings.
