Nel 1988, Yamaha ha commercializzato dei sistemi di
altoparlanti dotati della tecnologia YST(Yamaha Active
Servo Technology) per permettere una riproduzione dei
bassi potente e di alta qualità. Questa tecnica usa un
collegamento diretto fra l’amplificatore e l’altoparlante,
che permette una trasmissione fedele del segnale e un
controllo preciso dell’altoparlante.
Poiché questa tecnologia usa delle unità altoparlante
controllate dal drive a impedenza negativa
dell’amplificatore e dalla risonanza generata fra il volume
del rivestimento dell’altoparlante e l’apertura, viene creata
più energia risonante (concetto del “woofer ad aria”)
rispetto al metodo standard bass reflex. Questo permette
una riproduzione accurata dei bassi da cabinet più piccoli.
La nuova tecnologia Yamaha’ Advanced YST II aggiunge
varie migliorie a quella Yamaha Active Servo Technology,
permettendo un migliore controllo dell’amplificatore e dei
diffusori. Dal punto di vista dell’amplificatore,
l’impedenza dei diffusori cambia a seconda della
frequenza del suono da riprodurre. Yamaha ha sviluppato
un circuito di nuovo tipo che combina i sistemi di
pilotaggio a impedenza negativa e a corrente costante,
producendo prestazioni più stabili e bassi più chiari senza
torbidità.
