En 1988, Yamaha desarrolló YST (Yamaha Active Servo
Technology) para los sistemas de altavoces, para
reproducir graves potentes de alta calidad. Esta tecnología
usa una conexión directa entre el amplificador y el altavoz,
permitiendo la transmisión exacta de las señales y el
control preciso del altavoz.
Como esta tecnología usa altavoces controlados por el
accionamiento de impedancia negativa del amplificador y
la resonancia generada entre el volumen de capacidad de la
caja y el puerto, esto crea más energía de resonancia (el
concepto “altavoz de graves de aire”) que el método de
reflejo de graves estándar. Esto permite reproducir graves
desde cajas mucho más pequeñas de lo que antes era
posible.
El Advanced YST II de Yamaha, de reciente desarrollo,
añade muchos refinamientos a Yamaha Active Servo
Technology, permitiendo controlar mejor las fuerzas que
accionan el amplificador y los altavoces. Desde el punto de
vista del amplificador, la impedancia de los altavoces
cambia según la frecuencia del sonido. Yamaha desarrolló
un nuevo circuito que combina la impedancia negativa y
los accionamientos de corriente constante, lo que
proporciona un rendimiento más establey una
