Met het S-videosignaal systeem, wordt het videosignaal dat normaal verzonden
wordt over een penkabel gescheiden en verzonden als het Y-signaal voor de
verlichting en het C-signaal voor de chrominantie door de S-video kabel. Met de
S VIDEO-aansluiting wordt het transportverlies van videosignalen geëlimineerd,
waardoor er zelfs nog mooiere afbeeldingen opgenomen en afsgepeeld kunnen
worden.
“x.v.Color”
Een kleurruimtestandaard die ondersteund wordt door HDMI versie 1.3. Het is een
uitgebreidere kleurruimte dan sRGB en biedt de mogelijkheid tot het uitdrukken van
kleuren die eerder niet mogelijk was. Terwijl het nog steeds compatibel is met het
kleurenbereik van sRGB-standaarden, breidt “x.v.Color” de kleurruimte uit en kan
daarom levendigere, natuurlijkere beelden produceren. Het is in het bijzonder
effectief voor filmfoto’s en grafische computerafbeeldingen.
