Conexión a un ordenador personal
Si conecta un ordenador, podrá intercambiar datos con el MOTIF a través de MIDI, y usar el ordenador para controlar, editar y
organizar datos en el MOTIF. Por ejemplo, puede utilizar el programa Voice Editor incluido para editar las voces del MOTIF. Tam-
bién puede usar el programa especial File Utility para gestionar desde el ordenador los archivos de la tarjeta de memoria instala-
da en la ranura CARD del MOTIF o los archivos del dispositivo SCSI conectado.
Uso de una interfaz USB
n Si está usando la función Remote Control para controlar las operaciones de un secuenciador de ordenador, recomendamos las conexiones
mediante un cable USB.
n La conexión USB sólo puede usarse para transferir datos MIDI. Los datos de audio no se pueden transferir a través de USB.
n Si conecta el ordenador al MOTIF como se indica en la ilustración superior, deberá seleccionar "USB" para la transmisión de datos MIDI en
el modo de utilidades (página 258).

Acerca del conector USB
Los cables USB disponen de conectores diferentes en cada extremo: de tipo A y de tipo B. Cuando use la conexión USB, el tipo
A se conecta al ordenador y el tipo al MOTIF.
PRECAUCIÓN
Si conecta o desconecta el cable USB, o si enciende o apaga la unidad, es posible que el ordenador se bloquee o que el MOTIF
deje de funcionar correctamente. Procure NO alterar la conexión USB ni apagar/encender la unidad en las siguientes situacio-
nes operativas:
Mientras el MOTIF reconoce el dispositivo o se está cargando la unidad.
Mientras está arrancando o se está cerrando el sistema operativo.
Cuando el ordenador está en modo suspendido (por controles de gestión de corriente tales como reposo o hibernación).
Durante el arranque de una aplicación MIDI.
El ordenador también puede bloquearse, o el MOTIF dejar de funcionar, en los siguientes casos:
Si enciende y apaga la unidad o conecta y desconecta el cable con demasiada frecuencia.
Si entra en el modo de espera/reposo mientras transmite datos MIDI y reanuda la operación.
Si conecta o desconecta el cable estando el MOTIF encendido.
Si enciende o apaga el MOTIF, pone en marcha el ordenador o instala software de controlador mientras se está transfiriendo
una gran cantidad de datos.
