The MusicCAST network

MusicCAST components are equipped
with an Auto Configuration function
that will automatically set all
parameters necessary to make a
connection, however in some rare
cases you may need to configure the
network settings manually.

Network addresses
Each component on a network uses an address to
identify itself to other components on the same
network. The address consists of four numbers, and
looks like this:
192.168.1.1
This is called an IP address. Without these
addresses, the components on the network cannot
transmit data to each other, and you cannot play
music on your MusicCAST clients.
Look at the network diagram below to see an
example of network addresses.
Assigning IP addresses
Before you begin to use a MusicCAST client, you
must connect it to a MusicCAST server, assign it an
IP address, and set the server ID of the MusicCAST
server you wish to connect it to. Normally, you can
use the Auto Configuration function for this
connection process.
