Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause and Solution
The CP33 does not turn on. The CP33 has not been plugged in properly. Securely insert the female plug into the
socket on the CP33, and the male plug into a proper AC outlet (page 8).
A click or pop is heard when the power is turned on or off. This is normal when electrical current is being applied to the instrument.
Noise is heard from the speakers or headphones. The noise may be due to interference caused by the use of a mobile phone in close
proximity to the CP33. Turn off the mobile phone, or use it further away from the CP33.
The overall volume is low, or no sound is heard. The Master Volume or Zone Control are set too low; set it to an appropriate level
using the [MASTER VOLUME] dial or [ZONE CONTROL] slider.
Make sure a pair of headphones is not connected to the headphones jack (page 9).
An external audio system or a set of stereo headphones may not be properly
connected. Make sure to connect the powered speakers to the OUTPUT L/MONO
and R jacks on the rear panel.
•"Volume" may have been assigned to the [ZONE CONTROL] slider while the Master
mode is turned on, and the [ZONE CONTROL] may be set too low; set it to an
appropriate level using the [ZONE CONTROL] slider.
Make sure that Local Control (page 9) is ON.
The Sustain pedal has no effect. The pedal cable/plug may not be properly connected. Make sure to securely insert the
pedal plug into the proper jack (page 11).
The foot pedal seems to produce the opposite effect. For example, pressing
the foot pedal cuts off the sound and releasing it sustains the sounds.
The type of the foot pedal is reversed. If this happens, use F5.5 or F5.6 to correct the
pedal type (page 38).
