Deze tranceiver beschikt over ruime
mogelijkheden om te scannen. Of je nu het
VFO gebruikt of een van de geheugen modes,
scannen is in principe gelijk voor alle
instellingen met de volgende verschillen:
• in de VFO mode, scant de tranceiver
over de band en wacht als er een
signaal is
• In de geheugen mode worden de
geprogrammeerde geheugens gescand
en kan het overslaan van bepaalde
geheugens ingesteld worden.
• In geprogrammeerde geheugenscan
PMS, wordt de band tussen de
geprogrammeerde frequentie grenzen
gescand.

Om de FT 897 automatisch te laten scannen
moet de squelch zo gezet worden dat het
ruisen weg valt. Het commando om te
stoppen met scannen wordt gegeven door het
zelfde signaal dat de groene ‘Busy’ led
aanstuurt, dus als er signaal gehoord wordt.
1. zet de SQ-knop op het punt dat de ruis
verdwijnt. Een typische instelling is
op 12 uur of dicht hierbij
2. Zet de tranceiver in de scan-mode die
je wenst (VFO of memory, PMS volgt
later)
3. Druk kort op de F toets, kies met
MEM/VFO tot multi functie rij g
[SCN,PRI,DW] verschijnt.
4. Druk kort op de A (SCN) toets om
omhoogscannen te starten.
5. Draai de DIAL knop of MEM/VFO
knop tegen de klok in om
omlaagscanne te starten.
6. De scanner laat de tranceiver lopen tot
een signaal gehoord wordt. Als er een
signaal is opent de squelch, dan is
afhankelijk van de mode;

blijft 5 sec. Staan en gaat daarna
verder ook al is het station er nog.
Tijdens het wachten knippert de
decimale punt. Zie scan-hervat-modes
om dit te wijzigen
* ,QGH66%PRGH vertraagt het
scannen maar stopt niet.
