2.3. Mounting
The MAX! Window Sensor essentially consists of two elements: a magnet (1) and an electronic unit
(2). One of these must be mounted on the frame, the other on the window.
First select the window that is frequently used for ventilation and which the window sensor is to be
attached to.
The magnet (1) can be installed on either side of the electronic unit (2). Installati- on
must be in parallel with a maximum spacing of 8 mm (A).
The window sensor can be attached both vertically and horizontally.
The magnet (1) must be centre-aligned with the electronic unit (2) (C).
The magnet (1) and electronic unit (2) must be attached at the same level or as close to the same level
as is possible within the space (B). You might need to use the spacers supplied for the magnets (1) to do this.
Each of the elements can be fastened in two ways:
Adhesive strip method:
The surface must be clean and dry.
Using adhesive strips does not damage the door or window in any way.
Stick the adhesive strips supplied with the device on the rear sides of the brackets (1 and 2).
Then press the brackets onto the frame and window.
Screw method:
Using screws damages the window frame.
Use a pen to mark the bore hole positions (a) on the window frame and casement.
If you are working with a hard surface, you should drill the holes marked (a) using
a 1.5 mm drill.
Use the countersunk head screws supplied to fasten the wall brackets for the electronic
unit (2) and magnet (1).
If you are using the 14.5 mm high spacer, you must rst fasten it with two 2.2 x 16 mm screws and
then attach the magnet unit (1) to it with another two screws. The atter spacers are simply fastened
together with the magnet using two 2.2 x 16 mm screws.
Once you have fastened the wall bracket for the magnet (1) insert the magnet. Then place the cap on the magnet.
Once you have fastened the wall bracket for the electronic unit (2), attach the electronic unit. Then place the cap (white
and brown caps are supplied with the device) on the electronic unit.
Screw fastening damages the window frame. For those living in rented accommodation, this could lead to a
landlord making a claim for compensation or holding back a tenant’s deposit.
2.4. Inserting (replacing) batteries
The window sensor runs on 2 LR03
(micro/AAA) batteries.
Remove the cover on the electronic unit by pulling it forward and off the device (1). To release the co-
ver, squeeze it gently from above and below with your thumb and index nger (4).
Carefully lift the release clip (2) from the side.
Pull the electronic unit forward (3) and off the bracket.
After removing the old batteries, please wait approximately 60 seconds before inserting the new ones.
