g) Use power tools, accessories, insertion tools,
etc. in accordance with these instructions.
Take the work conditions and the activity to
be performed into consideration. The use of
electric power tools for applications other than
those intended may lead to hazardous situations.
h) Keep the handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean
and free of oil and grease. Slippery handles and
handle surfaces do not allow for safe operation or con-
trol of the power tool in unforeseeable situations.
Battery tool use and care
a) Rechargeonlywiththechargerspeciedby
the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for
one type of battery pack may create a risk of re
when used with another battery pack.
b) Usepowertoolsonlywithspecicallydesig-
nated battery packs. of any other battery packs
may create a risk of injury and re.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects,
that can make a connection from one terminal
to another. Shorting the battery terminals together
may cause burns or a re.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be eject-
ed from the battery; avoid contact. If contact
accidentallyoccurs,ushwithwater.Ifliquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irrita-
tion or burns.
e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-
agedormodied. Damaged or modied batter-
ies may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting
in re, explosion or risk of injury.
f) Donotexposeabatterypackortooltoreor
excessive temperature. Exposure to re or tem-
perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside the
temperaturerangespeciedintheinstructions.
Charging improperly or at temperatures outside
the specied range may damage the battery and
increase the risk of re.
Service
a) Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyaqualied
repair person using only identical replace-
ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
power tool is maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of
battery packs should only be performed by the
manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Safety information for chainsaws
¾When the saw is running, keep all body parts
away from the saw chain. Before starting the
saw, ensure that the saw chain is not touching
anything. When working with a chainsaw, one
moment of inattention may lead to clothing or
body parts getting caught by the chain.
¾Only hold the chainsaw by the insulated
handles because the chain may come into
contact with hidden power cables. Contact of
the chain with a live cable may result in metal
device components becoming live and result in
electric shocks.
¾Wear safety goggles! Additional protective
equipment for hearing, head, hands, legs and
feet is recommended. Appropriate protective
clothing reduces the risk of injury from chips and
splinters ying around and accidental contact with
the chain.
¾Do not work using the chainsaw when stood
on a tree, ladder, roof or any unstable surface.
There is a serious risk of injury when working in
such a manner.
¾Alwaysensureyouhavearmfootingand
use the chainsaw only when you are standing
on solid, safe and level ground. Slippery
ground or unsteady footing may cause you to
lose your balance or lose control of the chainsaw.
¾When cutting branches that are under
tension, remember that they can swing back.
When the tension in the wood bres is released,
the tensioned branch may hit the user and/or
knock the chainsaw out of the user's control.
¾Be particularly careful when cutting
undergrowth and young trees. Thin material
can get caught in the saw chain and hit you or
upset your balance.
¾Follow the instructions for lubrication, chain
tensioning and changing of the guide bar and
chain. A chain which has not been tensioned or
lubricated properly can either snap or increase
the risk of kickback.
¾Saw wood only. Do not use the chainsaw for
work for which it is not designed. Example:
Do not use the chainsaw for sawing metal,
plastic, masonry or building materials not
made of wood. Use of the chainsaw for tasks for
which it is not intended may lead to hazardous
situations.
¾This chainsaw is not suitable for cutting down
trees. Use of the chainsaw for tasks for which it
is not intended may lead to severe injuries for the
user or other persons.
Causes and prevention of kickback:
Kickbacks can occur when the tip of the guide bar
contacts an object or when the wood bends and the
saw chain jams during cutting.
Contact with the tip of the bar may in some cases
lead to an unexpected jolt backwards, which will
cause the guide bar to be knocked upwards and
towards the user.
