Seat adjustment (g. C/M3)
Adjust the seat to match your height to sit optimally (1,2,3):
- unscrew the hand wheel
- lift the seat out of the mounting
- insert the seat to the correct setting using the catches
- screw up the hand wheel tightly
- Item 1: Insert the seat front mounting into the socket behind
the steering box (g. M3)
Assembly side ejection system (g. D)
You use the side ejection system to mow high or wet grass. The
cut grass is deposited next to the mower.
Loosen the side protective panel (g. D)
At the right protective panel loosen and remove the two screws
(M6) and washers. The side panel can now be removed
Starting the Motor (g. E/F/G)
Cold Start
• Push the primer on the motor slowly and firmly three times
(fig.E).
• Sit on the Cart to start the motor. Caution. Do not place your
foot onto the accelerator pedal.
• Move the gear lever to position „N“ (neutral) (fig. F).
• Move switch-key to position “I” and continue to turn (fig. G).
Warm Start
In a warm start you do not push the primer.
Starting the motor manually
Manual start is carried out in emergencies and only when the
rechargeable battery is completely discharged.
Press the primer three times for a cold start (fig. E).
Turn the ignition key to position “I” (fig. G).
Then pull the starter cable firmly and smoothly (fig. A, 1).
Recharge the battery as soon as you can (Q).
Switching the Cutter/Drive Mode On and Off (g. F/G/H)
Starting the cutter
• Place yours foot onto mower pedal “1” (fig. H) and press it
down completely.
Cutting height adjustment (g. J)
Lawn should be dry when mowing to protect turf. Select highest
cutting position before the blade is engaged. Engage blade drive
then select desired cutting height. Generally, height should be
set between 5,5 and 7,0 cm. If grass is damp a higher cutting
level should be chosen. Take care that the height adjustment
lever is always properly engaged.
Mulching
The grass must not be too high for mulching, otherwise the cut
grass will not be distributed equally. Only mow when the grass
is dry. Make sure that the casing is clean when you mulch. Mow
often: twice per week. Never cut off more than 2,5 cm (1 in.) of
the grass blades. Do not forget to use fertiliser regularly.
Mowing tip (g. K-P)
• Mulch mower (fig. K)
• Mower with ejection to the side (fig. L)
• Mower with a collector (fig. M)
• Mowing on rectangular lawns: Overlap wheels by 5 cm (2–3
ins) to give best results.
• Mowing on slopes: Mow up and down the slope, never across
it (fig. N).
• Mowing around trees, ponds and obstacles: Mowing in small
circles (fig. O), Mowing in large circles (fig. P).
• Corners which cannot be reached can easily be cut using
a grass trimmer.
Cleaning
Disconnect starterkeyand spark plug lead before proceeding.
CleanCartwith brush aftermowing. Store theCart in a dryarea.
When cleaning the mower and changing blades, lay the
mower on its right hand side.
Charging starter battery (g. Q)
The mains charger for the battery is available as an accessory.
Part no. 6150 070. Under normal use the engine’s generator
recharges the battery. After longer periods of non-use it is pos-
sible that the battery can become discharged. In this event the
Cart either must be started manually or be recharged first with the
battery charger.
Disposal
Batteries contain lead and must be disposed of in the correct
manner. Have defective batteries disposed of by a specialist
workshop. Batteries must be removed from the unit before scrap-
ping (disposal).
Sharpening and changing blade (g. R)
Blade should always be sharpened by an approved Service
Centre. Change blade according to drawing. Replacement blade
Vi55 C available as accessory. Part no. 6110 095. When ever you
work on the cutters wear protective gloves, switch off the motor,
remove the ignition key and disconnect the spark plug connector.
Information for Service Centre: Blade retaining screw to be tighte-
ned to 55 Nm.
Cleaning spark plugs
Dirty spark plugs decrease engine performance. Clean and regap
the electrodes (0,6–0,7 mm).
Drive mode on
• Select the gear using the gear lever (fig. F). Press accelerator
pedal “2” slowly down to the stop (fig. H).
Stopping the cutter
• Release mower pedal “1” (fig. H).
Stopping the drive mode
• Release accelerator pedal “2” (fig. H).
Stopping the motor
• When the Cart has stopped moving turn the ignition key to “O”
and remove it (fig. G).
