5.3.2 Pad cartridge
> Remove the coffee pads from the pad cartridge after use.
> At regular intervals, check that the central opening of the pad cartridge is free. It may be blocked
by cellulose fibres from kitchen towels.
> Clean the pad cartridge in rinsing water with a fine brush or in the dishwasher.
5.4 Descaling
Descale the coffee pad machine at regular intervals to ensure that it works perfectly.
5.4.1 Scaling indicator
Your appliance has an automatic scaling detection feature. If you want to descale the machine, the x2
button
D will light up red at longer intervals. Depending on the amount of coffee you consume and the
hardness of the water, you may be asked to descale every 4 to 10 weeks.
You can continue to make coffee after this time but you should not wait too long after the descaling is
due to avoid damaging the appliance.
To protect against too much lime scale, the appliance is pre-configured for very hard water.
> Where necessary, ask your local waterworks or local authorities about the water hardness of your
tap water.
> Change the setting when the water hardness is less than 21°dH.
You will not be asked to descale as often as before.
