Plugging the iron in
Check that the voltage is correct. Ensure that the full length of the cord has been
unwound from the cord storage reservoir.
Hotplates
The hotplates have a Teflon coating and should only be greased with margarine
prior to the appliance being used for the first time.
Filling with cake batter
Ladle the batter in with a teaspoon and then close the lid. If you have used too
much batter, it will be collected by the non-drip channel.
Using a cone cake stick you can make nice crispy cone cakes. The cakes must be
rolled around the stick while they are still warm. You can also shape it over a cup
so that they can be served with something tasty in it.
Berit’s delicious crispy cone:
Makes approx. 25 cakes.
125 g margarine
125 g sugar
3 whole eggs
150 g white flour
2 Tbs. corn flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cardamom
Wisk the butter and sugar until they are white. Gradually add some of the whis-
ked eggs, sifted flour and baking powder in turn and repeat. Add the cardamom
at the end. Use a spoon to ladle the batter into the pastry iron and cook them
until they are light brown.
CLEANING
Always pull out the plug before any cleaning operation and allow the appli-
ance to cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water or hold it under running water.
Wipe down the casing with a moist cloth only.
Clean the hotplates after they have cooled down with a moist cloth or with
a very soft brush.
Never use sharp or pointed objects or any abrasive cleaning agents for
cleaning purposes.
NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID.
