INTRODUCTION
Introducing Riot the T-Rex by VTech®! This wild Switch & Go Dino
is an exciting 2-in-1 toy which switches between a tough T-Rex and
a super race car! Use the remote control to race Riot in both dino
and vehicle modes! Press the Talk Button to hear fun phrases and to
learn cool dinosaur facts! Riot even responds with lively dinosaur and
race car sound effects too! Let’s Switch & Go!

WARNING: All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets,
packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords
and packaging screws are not part of this toy and
should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains
important information.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. For optimal performance, please play on a smooth surface.
2. When exposed to electrostatic discharge and radio interference,
Riot the T-Rex may malfunction. Please turn both Riot and the
remote control off and on again to reset them.
3. For your child’s safety, do not put Riot the T-Rex in either
conguration on your clothing, body or hair.
Turn the packaging lock anticlockwise
several times.
Pull out and discard the packaging lock.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Riot the T-Rex
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit.
Loosen the screw and remove the cover.
3. If used or spent batteries are present, remove
them by pulling up on one end of each battery.
4. Install 4 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following
the diagram inside the battery box. (The use
of new alkaline batteries is recommended for
maximum performance).
5. Replace the battery cover.
Remote Control
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the back of
the unit. Loosen the screw and remove the cover.
3. If used or spent batteries are present,
remove them by pulling up on one end of
each battery.
4. Install 2 new AAA batteries following the
diagram inside the battery box. (The use of
new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance).
5. Replace the battery cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
Alkaline Batteries are recommended. Rechargeable batteries are
not guaranteed to provide the best performance for this product.
Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-
zinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.
Do not use damaged batteries.
Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.

Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
Do not dispose of batteries in re.
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if
removable).
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
Disposal of batteries and product
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and
batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they
must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain
substances that can be damaging to the environment and
human health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked,
indicate that the battery contains more than the specied
value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out
in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).
The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the
market after 13th August, 2005.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Riot the T-Rex:
1. POWER ON/OFF SWITCH
To switch Riot the T-Rex on, slide the POWER
ON/OFF SWITCH to ON ( position).
To switch Riot the T-Rex off, slide the POWER
ON/OFF SWITCH to OFF ( position).

2. ACTION BUTTON
Press the ACTION BUTTON to see Riot perform
a cool move!
3. LCD SCREEN
The LCD SCREEN displays Dino eye
animations in Dino Mode and displays driver
animations in Vehicle Mode.
4. LED LIGHTS
The LED LIGHTS will flash with the sounds.
Remote Control:
1. OFF/VOLUME SWITCH
To turn on the Remote Control and adjust the
volume, slide the switch to the Low Volume
() or the High Volume position ( ).
To turn off the Remote Control, slide the
switch to the OFF ( ) position.
2. DIRECTION BUTTONS
Press the FORWARD/REVERSE BUTTONS
to make Riot the T-Rex move forwards and
backwards.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT BUTTONS to make
Riot the T-Rex turn left and right.
Press the FORWARD BUTTON and the LEFT or RIGHT
BUTTON together to make Riot the T-Rex move left/right and
forwards.
Press the REVERSE BUTTON and the LEFT or RIGHT BUTTON
together to make Riot the T-Rex move left/right and backwards.

3. TALK BUTTON
Press the TALK BUTTON to hear cool Dino
facts, phrases and sound effects in Dino Mode.
Press the TALK BUTTON to hear cool Vehicle
phrases and sound effects in Vehicle Mode.
4. CONNECTION LIGHT
The CONNECTION LIGHT will ash once when the Remote
Control is turned on. The CONNECTION LIGHT
will light up when pressing any button on the
Remote Control. If the connection between
the controller and Riot fails, the Remote
Control will not control Riot, please switch the
Remote Control and Riot the T-Rex off, then
switch them both back on again.
Note: If the CONNECTION LIGHT is continually off when
pressing any button on the Remote Control, please install brand
new batteries and try switching it off and on again.
5. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, Riot the T-Rex will automatically power off
after several minutes without input. The Remote Control will not
control Riot the T-Rex during this period. Riot the T-Rex can be
powered on again by pressing the ACTION BUTTON or by sliding
the POWER ON/OFF SWITCH from the Off position to the On
position.
Note:
The LED LIGHTS will flash three times and then automatically
power off when the battery power is too low. Please then install
brand new batteries and try switching the units off and on again.
To prevent motor overheating and to preserve motor life, Riot
the T-Rex may pause motion after approximately 1 minute of
continuous use. To continue moving Riot the T-Rex, release and
then press a DIRECTION BUTTON again.

SWITCHING RIOT
Dino mode 1. Flip the head up.
2. Turn the two hind legs up
until they are perpendicular
to the head.
4. Rotate the part of two hind
legs separately toward the
head.
3. Push the battery box up
close to the body.
5. Flip the feet down.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct
heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an
extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit
to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions,
please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play with again.
5. If the product still does not work, install a brand new set of batteries.
