INTRODUCTION

Introducing Defender the Velociraptor! This wild Switch & Go Dino is

an exciting 2-in-1 toy which switches between a erce Velociraptor

and a mighty Robot! Press the Action Button to see Defender’s dino

legs stomp and robot arms swing! Defender plays fun phrases and

sounds, teaches dinosaur facts, and even has a cool screen which

displays animations! Let’s Switch & Go!

WARNING:

All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging

locks, removable tags, cable ties and packaging screws are not

part of this toy and should be discarded for your child’s safety.

NOTE:

Please keep this Parent’s Guide as it contains important

information.

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Make sure the dino is turned OFF.

2. Locate the battery cover and open it

with a screwdriver.

3. If used or spent batteries are present,

remove these batteries from the dino

by pulling up on one end of each

battery.

4. Install 2 AAA (LR03/AM-4) batteries

following the diagram inside the

battery box. (The use of new, alkaline

batteries is recommended for

maximum performance).

5. Replace the battery cover and tighten

the screw to secure.

Note: If there is no response when the dino is switched on,

please install brand new batteries and try switching the dino on

again.

BATTERY NOTICE

•

Use new alkaline batteries or fully charged NI-MH (Nickel Metal-

hydride).

• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as

recommended.

• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard

(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.

• Do not use damaged batteries.

• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.

• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.

• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.

• Do not dispose of batteries in re.

• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if

removable).

Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult

supervision.

Disposal of batteries and product

The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and

batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they

must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain

substances that can be damaging to the environment and

human health.

The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked,

indicate that the battery contains more than the specied

value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out

in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).

The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the

market after 13th August, 2005.

PRODUCT FEATURES

1. OFF / LOW / HIGH VOLUME SWITCH

Slide the OFF / LOW / HIGH VOLUME SWITCH

to the LOW or HIGH position to turn on the dino

and to adjust the volume. Slide the switch to the

OFF position to turn the dino off.

2. TALK BUTTON

Press the TALK BUTTON to hear

Defender talk.

3. SOUND EFFECTS BUTTON

Press the SOUND EFFECTS BUTTON

to hear cool Velociraptor and robot

sound effects.

4. ACTION BUTTON

In Dino Mode, press the ACTION

BUTTON to move the Velociraptor’s legs

and to hear a roar.

In Robot Mode, press the ACTION

BUTTON to move the robot’s arms and

to hear robot sound effects.

5. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF

To preserve battery life, the dino will automatically turn off after

approximately 1 minute of inactivity. The dino can be woken up

by pressing any button.

Please note: When the battery power is very low, a low voltage

icon will ash on the LCD screen several times. Then, the dino

will automatically turn off. Please replace the batteries after

seeing the low voltage icon to continue normal play.

ACTIVITIES

1. Dino Mode

In Dino Mode, pressing the TALK BUTTON will play fun phrases

and cool Velociraptor facts. Pressing the SOUND EFFECTS

BUTTON or moving the Velociraptor will trigger dinosaur

sound effects. Pressing the ACTION BUTTON will make the

Velociraptor’s legs move.

2. Robot Mode

In Robot Mode, fun phrases will be heard when the TALK

BUTTON is pressed. Pressing the SOUND EFFECTS BUTTON

or moving the robot will trigger robot sound effects. Pressing the

ACTION BUTTON swings the robot’s arms.

HOW TO SWITCH DEFENDER THE VELOCIRAPTOR

1. Dino mode. 2. Pull the claws towards

the dino’s back.

Note: To switch from Robot mode to Dino mode, follow the above

steps in reverse order.

3. Turn the robot legs

down until you hear them

click into place.

4. Rotate the shoulders

upwards until you hear

them click into place.

5. Push the head down

into the body.

6. Robot mode.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Keep the dino clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.

2. Keep the dino out of direct sunlight and away from any direct

heat sources.

3. Remove the batteries when the dino is not in use for an

extended period of time.

4. Do not drop the dino on a hard surface and do not expose the

dino to excess moisture.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the dino stops working, please follow these steps:

1. Please turn the dino OFF.

2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.

3. Let the dino stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.

4. Turn the dino ON. The dino should now be ready to play with

again.

5. If the dino still does not work, install a brand new set of batteries.
