6. Appuyez plusieurs fois sur la touche SHIFT/SETUP jusqu’à ce que l’option « AUTO
BRIGTHNESS » soit sélectionnée. Un symbole en forme d’étoile * à gauche de l’option indique
que l’option est sélectionnée.
7. Appuyez sur les touches REL/PC (Log/) ou MAX/MIN (View/) pour sélectionner « ON » ou
« OFF ».
8. Le réglage « ON » signi e que le mode économie d’énergie est activé. La luminosité de l’écran est
automatiquement réduite pendant les périodes d’inactivité.
9. Le réglage « OFF » désactive automatiquement le mode économie d’énergie.
10. Maintenez la touche SHIFT/SETUP pendant env. 2 s pour enregistrer la sélection et quitter le
menu SETUP.
23. ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE
a) Généralités
A n de garantir la précision du multimètre pendant une période prolongée, il doit être calibré une
fois par an.
A l’exception d’un nettoyage occasionnel et d’un remplacement du fusible, l’appareil de mesure ne
nécessite aucun entretien.
Vous trouverez le chapitre concernant le remplacement de la pile et du fusible ci-après.
Contrôlez régulièrement la sécurité technique de l’appareil et des câbles de mesure
en vous assurant de l’absence de dommages au niveau du boîtier ou d’écrasements
de cordons, etc.
b) Nettoyage
Avant de procéder au nettoyage de l’appareil, tenez impérativement compte des consignes de
sécurité suivantes :
Des pièces sous tension peuvent être exposées lorsque vous ouvrez les boîtiers ou
retirez des pièces, sauf si cela peut être fait manuellement.
Avant tout entretien ou réparation, il convient de débrancher les câbles de l’objet de
mesure et de tous les objets de mesure. Éteignez le DMM.
Pour nettoyer l’appareil, n’utilisez jamais de produits contenant du carbone, d’essence, d’alcool ou
similaires. Ces produits attaquent la surface de l’appareil de mesure. En outre, les vapeurs sont
nocives pour la santé et explosives. N’utilisez jamais d’outils aux bords tranchants, de tournevis, de
brosses métalliques ou similaires pour le nettoyage.

Proceed as follows to insert/replace:
1. Disconnect the connected test leads from the measuring circuit and from your measuring device.
Switch off the DMM.
2. Open the housing as described in Chapter “23. Maintenance and cleaning” (page 76).
3. Replace the used battery with a new one of the same type. Insert the new battery in the battery
compartment (14) with the correct polarity. Pay attention to the polarity directions in the battery
compartment.
4. Carefully close the housing again.
b) Setting the battery type
1. Set the battery type used in the SETUP menu. This allows the device to display the battery level
correctly.
2. With the measuring device switched on, hold down the SHIFT/SETUP button (3) for approx. 2 s.
will appear on the display. You are now in SHIFT mode.
3. Hold down the SHIFT/SETUP button again for approx. 2 sec to open the SETUP menu.
4. Now press the SHIFT/SETUP button several times until the menu item “BATTERY TYPE” is
selected. An asterisk symbol * to the left of the menu item shows that the menu item is selected.
5. Press the REL/PC (Log/) or MAX/MIN (View/) buttons to select “LI-AKKU” (lithium monobloc
battery) or “ALKALINE” (alkaline monobloc battery).
6. Hold down the SHIFT/SETUP button for approx. 2 sec to save the setting and exit the SETUP
menu. You will also exit SHIFT mode.

10. SETTING THE TIME AND DATE
1. Set the time and date in the SETUP menu.
2. With the measuring device switched on, hold down the SHIFT/SETUP button (3) for approx. 2 s.
will appear on the display. You are now in SHIFT mode.
3. Hold down the SHIFT/SETUP button again for approx. 2 sec to open the SETUP menu.
4. The menu item “SET TIME” is selected. If not, press the SHIFT/SETUP button several times to
select the menu item “SET TIME”. An asterisk symbol * to the left of the menu item “SET TIME”
shows that the menu item is selected.
