c) Inserting and changing the batteries
Batteries (not included) are required to operate the multimeter.
Insert new batteries:
before rst use,
when the power indicator (11) no longer lights up or
when you can no longer conduct a zero ohm adjustment in the resistance measuring range.
Proceed as follows to insert/replace batteries:
- Remove the test leads from the device and turn off the multi-
meter.
- Loosen the housing screw at the back and carefully push the
battery compartment cover (10) upward to remove.
- Insert new batteries into the multimeter as depicted. Observe
the polarity markings in the battery compartment. 9 V block bat-
tery + 2 micro (AAA) batteries. Pull the ribbon to easily remove
the 9 V block battery. Before inserting the battery, place the
ribbon beneath it.
- Reclose the housing carefully.
Never operate the meter with the housing open! !RISK TO LIFE!
Do not leave used batteries in the multimeter. Even leak-proof batteries may be subject to corrosion
and leak chemicals that are hazardous to your health and may damage the device.
Do not leave batteries lying about unattended. Children or pets may swallow batteries left lying
about. If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
Remove the batteries from the device for extended periods of disuse to prevent leakage.
Leaking or damaged batteries may cause chemical burns if they come into contact with your skin.
Wear suitable protective hand wear when handling such batteries.
Never short-circuit batteries. Do not throw batteries into re.
Batteries should not be charged. There is a risk of explosion!
You can order suitable alkaline batteries using the following order number:
Item no. 658014 (please order 1x) 9 V block battery.
Item no. 658010 (please order 2x) micro (AAA).
Use high-performance, durable alkaline batteries only.
