The first time you set up your phone, you can select to use an existing Gmail
or to create a new Email account.
Gmail 4.2.1
Gmail is Google's web-based email service that is available also on your phone.
The Gmail account is automatically configured on your phone after you have
signed on to your Google Account. Unlike other email services, in the Gmail
each message and its replies are grouped as a single conversation.
To access Gmail
From the Home screen, touch
to enter the applications list, then touch
Gmail.
Gmail displays messages and conversations from one single Gmail account
at a time. If you own more than one account, you can switch to another by
pressing
from Inbox screen, touching Settings, then touching the account
you want to view.
To create and send emails
a Press
from the Inbox screen.
b Enter the recipient's email address in To field, and if necessary, press the
Menu key and touch Add Cc/Bcc to include a copy or a blind copy of the
message.
c Enter the subject and content of the message.
d To send an attachment as well, press the Menu key and touch Attach file.
e Finally, touch
.
f If you do not want to send the mail out right away, you can touch
and Save
draft to save a copy. To view the draft, press in the Inbox screen and select
Drafts.
If you do not want to send or save the mail, you can touch Discard.
To add a signature to emails, press the from inbox screen, and touch
Settings, choose your account , then select Signature.
To receive and read your emails
When a new email arrives, you will be notified by a ringtone or vibration, and an
icon
will appear on the Status bar.
Touch and drag down the Status bar to display the Notification panel, touch
the new email to view it. Or you can also access the Gmail Inbox label and
touch the new mail to read it.
If you want to go back to the Inbox label while reading a new message, you can
press the Back key or press the at the left top corner.
The Google Talk online status
is shown next to the name of the sender of
each email. Touch this contact image to open Quick Contact.
You can search for an email by sender, by subject, by label, etc.
From the Inbox screen, touch •

Enter the keyword you want to search for in the searching box and touch •
search icon.
To reply or forward emails
When viewing an email, you will see three icons with further options at the
bottom of the conversation.
Reply/•
Reply all
Touch to enter your reply message, then touch
to send this message to one single recipient or all
people in a mail loop.
Forward•
Touch to forward the message to another person.
You will need to enter the new recipient’s email
address and then touch
to Send.
