The frame rate will decrease if you select a higher resolution
■ Intra frame period
Determine how often to plant an I frame The shorter the duration, the more likely you will get
better video quality, but at the cost of higher network bandwidth consumption Select the intra
frame period from the following durations: 1/4 second, 1/2 second, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3
seconds, and 4 seconds
Video quality
Constant bit rate:
Bit rate restriction: You can select either the Average or Upper bound method as a
limiting factor The Average method allows the bit rate consumed to uctuate around
the target bit rate, eg, slightly higher or lower than 6Mbps The Average method can
apply when regulating the storage space taken when recording a video feed The
Upper bound method places a limitation on the maximum bit rate, and can be used
to regulate the network bandwidth taken by a video stream
Target bit rate: A complex scene generally produces a larger le size, meaning that
higher bandwidth will be needed for data transmission The bandwidth utilization
is configurable to match a selected level, resulting in mutable video quality
performance. The bit rates are selectable at the following rates: 20Kbps, 30Kbps,
40Kbps, 50Kbps, 64Kbps, 128Kbps, 256Kbps, 512Kbps, 768Kbps, 1Mbps, 2Mbps,
3Mbps, 4Mbps, 6Mbps, 8Mbps, 10Mbps, 12Mbps, 14Mbps, and 16Mbps You can
also select Customize and manually enter a value
Policy: When bandwidth and storage space become an issue, there will always
be a compromise between image quality and frame rate per second It is users’
responsibility for an adequate bandwidth planning before they deploy network
cameras The policy here helps users with the initial network planning
1 Frame rate priority - The camera will try to deliver a video stream with an optimal
frame rate, eg, 30fps, while image quality can be compromised For example,
users may prefer frame rate over quality where dropped frames are not preferred
such as monitoring the consecutive actions in a manufacturing facility
2 Image quality priority - The camera will try to deliver images in its highest quality
while the number of frames per second can be compromised
