- Engine will not start - Motorstop lever is not pressed
- Throttle lever set to STOP
position (MB 455 BC)
- No fuel in tank; fuel line blocked
- Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
- Dirty air filter
- Spark plug socket disconnected
from spark plug; ignition lead
incorrectly fastened to socket
- Spark plug dirty or damaged;
incorrect electrode gap
- Engine is flooded due to several
starting attempts
- Mower housing is blocked
- Battery for electric start is
discharged
- Press motorstop lever to
handlebar
- Set the throttle lever to the CHOKE
or MAX position (MB 455 BC)
- Top up fuel, clean fuel line
- Always use fresh, good quality
fuel, normal unleaded petrol;
clean carburettor
- Clean air filter
- Connect spark plug socket; check
connection between ignition lead
and socket
- Clean or replace spark plug;
adjust electrode gap
- Remove spark plug and dry; pull
starter cable repeatedly with the
spark plug removed (throttle lever
in STOP position)
- Clean mower housing
(disconnect spark plug socket
before cleaning)
- Charge battery for electric start
