The appliance is intended solely for installation and
operation in sealed unvented heating systems that
comply with EN 12828, with due attention paid to
CECS 215-2017 and the associated installation, serv-
ice and operating instructions. It is only designed for
heating up heating water that is of potable water qual-
ity.
Intended use presupposes that a fixed installation in
conjunction with permissible, system-specific compo-
nents has been carried out.
The appliance is intended exclusively for domestic or
semi-domestic use; even users who have not had any
instruction are able to operate the appliance safely.
Commercial or industrial usage for a purpose other
than heating the building or DHW shall be deemed
inappropriate.
Any usage beyond this must be approved by the man-
ufacturer in each individual case.
Incorrect usage or operation of the appliance (e.g. the
appliance being opened by the system user) is prohibi-
ted and will result in an exclusion of liability. Incorrect
usage also occurs if the components in the heating
system are modified from their intended use (e.g. if the
flue gas and ventilation air paths are sealed).

Vitovalor PA2
The Vitovalor PA2 is a fuel cell based micro combined
heat and power unit. To generate heat and power, the
Vitovalor PA2 is operated with natural gas. The
Vitovalor PA2 can be integrated into existing systems.
Fuel cell module
Integral components such as the reformer, fuel cells
and inverter generate heat and power from the sup-
plied natural gas. Detailed information on the fuel cell
module can be found in chapter "Terminology" in the
Appendix.
Hydraulics
The fuel cell heats the heating water, which is then
pumped into the secondary circuit by the integral high
efficiency circulation pump. Depending on the system
configuration, the heating water can be used for room
heating and/or for DHW heating.
Operation
The control unit is integrated into the heat generator
and controls all functions of your system. The control
unit is operated via a 7 inch touchscreen.
A communication module is integrated in the control
unit. This means the system can also be operated
remotely via the internet with an app.
Control unit
The Vitovalor PA2 is suitable for heat-led and power-
optimised operation. By means of the integrated
energy manager, the fuel cell can be operated in a
manner optimised for own consumption.
Cylinder
A range of cylinders can be connected to the
Vitovalor PA2, such as DHW cylinders or heating water
buffer cylinders.
Permissible ambient conditions in the installation room

The appliance may develop faults if it is oper-
ated outside the specified temperature ranges.
Ensure that the specified temperature range is
maintained in the installation room.
To avoid malfunctions, ensure a temperature between
+5 and +40 °C.
!Please note
In the case of unfavourable pressure ratios, air
can be sucked from the installation room due to
design-related leaks in the supply air path.
Impurities contained in the air can cause faults
or damage to the appliance.
Avoid air contamination in the installation room.
