3.10 Extra functionaliteiten van de BMV-702 en -712
Naast de uitgebreide bewaking van het hoofdaccusysteem, biedt de
BMV-702 en -712 een tweede bewakingsingang. Deze tweede ingang
heeft drie configureerbare opties die onderstaand worden beschreven.
3.10.1 Bewaking van de hulpaccu
Zie voor het bedradingsschema de beknopte installatiehandleiding. Afb. 3
De configuratie biedt een primaire bewaking van een tweede accu door
weergave van de spanning van deze accu. Dit is handig voor systemen
met een afzonderlijke startaccu.
3.10.2 Bewaking van de accutemperatuur
Zie voor het bedradingsschema de beknopte installatiehandleiding. Afb. 4
De kabel met de geïntegreerde temperatuursensor dient apart te worden
besteld (artikelnr.: ASS000100000). Deze temperatuursensor is niet
uitwisselbaar met andere Victron-temperatuursensoren die bijvoorbeeld
met de Multi's of acculaders worden meegeleverd. De temperatuursensor
moet worden aangesloten op de pluspool van de accubank (één van de
twee draden van de sensor fungeert als de voedingsdraad).
De temperatuur kan worden weergegeven in graden Celsius of graden
Fahrenheit, zie paragraaf 4.2.5, instelling nr. 67.
De temperatuurmeting kan ook worden gebruikt om de accucapaciteit
aan de temperatuur aan te passen, zie paragraaf 4.2.5, instelling nr. 68.
De beschikbare accucapaciteit neemt af naarmate de temperatuur daalt.
De afname in vergelijking met de capaciteit bij 20°C is 18% bij 0°C en
40% bij -20°C.
3.10.3 Bewaking van de middelpuntspanning

Door één slechte cel of één slechte accu kan een grote, dure accubank
defect raken.
Een kortsluiting of hoge interne lekstroom in één cel bijvoorbeeld kan
leiden tot onderlading van die cel en overlading van de overige cellen.
Evenzo kan door één slechte accu in een 24V- of 48V-bank van
meerdere in serie of parallel aangesloten 12V-accu's de hele bank defect
raken.
Daarnaast moeten cellen of accu's die in serie zijn aangesloten allemaal
dezelfde beginlaadtoestand hebben. Kleine verschillen worden tijdens de
absorptie- of egalisatielading gecompenseerd, maar grote verschillen
leiden tot beschadiging tijdens het opladen als gevolg van overmatige
gasvorming in de cellen of accu's met de hoogste beginlaadtoestand.
