The appliance can operate either using mains power or in cordless mode, as it has
a rechargeable battery.
MAINS POWER SUPPLY
Connect the transformer the (fig.1 - reference 9) by inserting the plug into the appliance socket (fig.1 - ref.5).
Plug the transformer into the mains.
Warning: if the appliance does not work with mains power when the battery charge has run down completely,
switch it off, recharge the battery for about five minutes and then switch back on again, running on mains power.
CAUTION: do not use the appliance when the USB cable is connected to a computer.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
To charge the battery, use only the transformer supplied with the appliance.
Before using the appliance for the first time, charge the battery for 24 hours. Subsequently, leave the appliance
to charge for at least 90 minutes.
• Switch the appliance off using the switch (fig.1 - ref.3). The battery can only be charged with the appliance
switched off.
Charging with the transformer
-Connect the transformer (fig.1 - ref.9) by inserting the plug into the appliance socket (fig.1 - ref.5).
-Plug the transformer into the mains.
Charging with the USB cable
-Connect the USB cable (fig.1 - ref.12) fitting the jack into the socket on the appliance (fig.1 - rif.5).
-Connect the USB cable to the computer.
When the battery is charging the warning light comes on (fig.1 - ref.4) indicating that the appliance is charging.
When the battery is fully charged, the light changes from red to blue.
• Only recharge the battery when you note a clear reduction in appliance power.
• When the battery is fully charged, the appliance can be used for 90 minutes without connection to the mains.
CAUTION: use the USB cable only for charging the battery from the computer, it is not suited for mains
charging. Do not use the appliance when the USB cable is connected to a computer.
REMOVING AND ADJUSTING THE COMB ATTACHMENT
To adjust the cutting length turn the selector (fig.1 - ref.6) as shown in fig. 3.
To remove the comb, pull and slide in the direction of the arrow as shown in fig. 2A.
To replace, slide into the guides as shown in fig. 2B.
CHANGING BLADES
Switch the appliance off.
To remove a blade, push to release from the seat as shown in (fig.4).
To refit a blade, follow the instructions in (fig.5): first insert the rear section in the seat (A), then push the
front to secure in place (B).
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The cleaning and maintenance procedure must be carried out after every use.
All maintenance or blade change operations must be carried out with the appliance switched OFF and
removed from the mains adapter.
Never immerse the appliance in water!
After every use, remove the guide comb then use the small brush to eliminate any hair from the cutting head
and its seat.
Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft cloth (slightly damp if necessary). Never use solvents or abrasive
detergents!
