De indirect verwarmde zonneboilers werken in een zo-
genaamd gesloten systeem, dat betekent dat de water-
inhoud niet met de atmosfeer in verbinding staat. Bij het
openen van een warmwaterkraan wordt het warme
water door het instromende koude water uit de boiler
gedrukt.
In het onderste, koude bereik zit de zonnewarmtewisse-
laar. De relatief lage watertemperaturen in het onderste
bereik zorgen ook bij weinig bestraling door de zon voor
een optimale warmteovergang van het zonnecircuit
naar het boilerwater.
Bij de VIH SN 250/3 i vindt, indien nodig, een bijkomend
naverwarmen in een tweede, afzonderlijk verwarmings-
circuit plaats.
Anders dan bij de opwarming met zonne-energie vindt
de naverwarming van het warm water plaats door de
CV-ketel of circulatiewaterverwarmer in het bovenste,
warmere bereik van de boiler. Het ter beschikking ge-
stelde volume van de naverwarming bedraagt ca. 95 l bij
de VIH SN 250/3 i.
De zonneboiler is uitgerust met één of twee circulatie-
pompen, in versie P met twee circulatiepompen, voor
een optimale aanpassing van de vereiste circulatiehoe-
veelheid en het pompvermogen (alleen versie P).
De regeling van de nominale doorstromingshoeveelheid
gebeurt door de regelaar en hoeft niet handmatig inge-
steld te worden. Bij de installatie hoeft enkel ingesteld
te worden dat het om een 1 of 2-collectorsysteem gaat.
2.3 Werkingsprincipe
Het werkingsprincipe van het zonnesysteem
auroSTEP plus is anders dan bij vele andere zonnesyste-
men.
Het zonnesysteem auroSTEP plus is niet volledig met
collectorvloeistof gevuld en staat niet onder druk. Daar-
om vallen de anders bij zonnesystemen gebruikelijke
onderdelen, zoals expansievat, manometer en ontluch-
ter weg.

Bij stilstand van de collectorpomp(en) (4, 5) verzamelt
de collectorvloeistof zich in de spiraalbuis (3), in de
collectorpomp(en) en in het zonnesysteembuizenwerk
op de boilereenheid. Daarom is het belangrijk om het
collectorveld (1) en alle collectorvloeistofleidingen (2)
en (6) zo te installeren, dat de collectorvloeistof door
het aanwezige verval naar de boilereenheid kan terug-
stromen. De collectorvloeistofleidingen en het collector-
veld zijn dan met lucht gevuld.
Als collectorvloeistof dient een speciaal kant en klaar
water-glycol-mengsel, waarmee de boilereenheid bij le-
vering al vooraf gevuld is.
