CLEANING AND CARE
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.1.
Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and 2.
unplug it from the power supply.
Do not immerse the base, power cord or 3.
kettle in water or other liquids or wash them
in the dishwasher.
Wipe off the base and the kettle with a damp 4.
cloth and a little dishwashing detergent. Do
not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel
wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or
disinfectants, since they can damage the
appliance.
The appliance must be completely dry on 5.
the outside before you use it again.
DESCALING
The lime scale filter has to be cleaned 1.
regularly. Please empty the kettle completely
and allow it to cool off. Carefully remove the
filter from the pour spout. Clean the filter
carefully with a soft brush under running
water. You can also place the filter in a bowl
with a descaling solution. Then rinse the
filter with clear water and insert it in the
pour spout.
To keep the appliance operating efficiently 2.
and to prolong its service life, it should
be descaled regularly, depending on the
hardness of your water.
To descale the kettle, fill it no more than 3.
half full with a solution of half water and
half household vinegar. Bring the liquid to a
boil and leave it in the kettle for a while.
Pour the descaling solution out of the 4.
kettle.
Then fill it with fresh water and bring to a 5.
boil. Pour this water out as well. Then rinse
the kettle at least twice with clear water.
Of course, you can also use commercially 6.
available descaling products; please follow
the instructions on the package.
Remove the kettle from the base. 1.
Open the lid.2.
Fill the kettle with at least 0.3 liters of 3.
water. Do not fill the kettle with more than
1.0 liters of water (“Max” marking).
Close the lid by pressing lightly.4.
Place the kettle level on the base. 5.
Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/6.
OFF switch downwards into the „I“-position.
The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not
properly seated on the base.
When the water boils, the appliance 7.
automatically shuts off.
Whenever you take the kettle off the base, 8.
the appliance is automatically switched off,
even if the water is not yet boiling.
Of course you may also push the switch into 9.
the „O“-position to interrupt heating.
If you want to boil more water, please allow 10.
the appliance to cool off for a few minutes.
 11.
please handle the appliance with care when it
contains hot water.
The appliance features boil dry protection. 12.
When operated without water or with
excessive scaling, the appliance shuts off
automatically. If this happens, please allow
the appliance to cool off briefly before filling
it with water again or descale the appliance
as described in the chapter “Descaling” on
page 11.
