21. For safety reasons, never place the appli-
ance on hot surfaces, a metal tray or a wet
surface.
22. Do not place the appliance or lead cable
near open flames during operation.
23. Always use the popcornmaker on a level,
uncluttered and heat-resistant surface.
24. Make sure that the lead cable does not hang
over the edge of the worktop or table, since
this can cause accidents, for example if
small children pull on the cable.
25. Route the lead cable so that it is prevented
from being pulled or tripped over.
26. Never wrap the lead cable around the
appliance, but around the cable storage on
the bottom of the base.
27. Always disconnect the lead cable from the
wall socket pulling on the plug, never on the
cable.
28. Never carry the base by the lead cable.
29. Do not use the appliance with accessories
of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent
damage.
30. Disconnect the appliance from the wall
socket after use and prior to cleaning. Never
leave the appliance unattended when it is
connected to the wall socket.
31. Let the appliance cool off before cleaning it.
32. Never open the casing of the popcornmaker.
There is danger of electric shock.
33. Check the appliance, the wall socket and
the lead cable regularly for wear or damage.
In case the lead cable or other parts appear
damaged, please send the appliance or the
base to our after sales service for inspection
and repair (for address, see warranty terms).
Unauthorised repairs can constitute serious
risks for the user and void the warranty.
CAUTION:
The appliance becomes hot during
operation!
The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if
repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.
BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Remove all packaging materials and any
transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as
described in the chapter “Cleaning and
care” on page 18.
3. Check if the appliance is placed firmly.
4. Connect the base to the mains supply by
means of the lead cable (230 V~, 50 Hz).
5. Preheat the appliance for some minutes
on highest level before using it for the first
time to remove eventual production residues
on the plates. Open the window during this
heating period. Let the appliance cool down
after the initial heating. After the initial
heating you see some use tracks, however,
these will not affect the function of the
appliances and are no reason for complaints.
OPERATION
1. Set the mixer (3) on the axle and fix it clock-
wise with the screw (2).
2. Fill approx. 100 g of corn kernels into the
bowl. The bottom should be covered to
75 %. Do not use more kernels at a time.
If the popping chamber is overfilled the
appliance might get blocked.
3. Add approx. 2 tablespoons of oil as well
as salt or sugar to taste. Do not add other
spices, they might burn.
4. Put the lid (1) on the motor block (4).
5. Put the plug into a power socket.
6. Set the timer to the maximum time.
7. The appliance starts to heat and the corn
begins to pop up. The mixer ensures a
uniform mixing of popped and unpopped
kernels and thus provides a higher
performance. However, it is normal, that
a certain number of kernels remains
unpopped.
8. When the preset time has finished, the
appliance switches off. The mixer continues
to turn to avoid the popcorn from sticking
together.
9. Unplug the appliance before opening the lid.
10. The lid (1) serves also as serving dish.
To take out the popcorn, turn the whole
appliance using oven cloths and turn the
motor block off clockwise (see photo).
