The installation and repair of the Twin Mover is only to
be carried out by an expert. Read the installation instruc-
tions prior to starting work and follow them carefully!
Intended use
The Twin Mover was designed for installation in twin axle cara-
vans/trailers with a total weight up to 2250 kg.
The installation with the standard installation kit is only possi-
ble on caravans/trailers with a chassis made up of „U-shaped“
profiles within the following dimensions.
all dimensions in mm
* Without shock absorbers fitted
**With shock absorbers fitted
+ With fully loaded vehicle
Installation accessories
1. BPW chassis kit
For caravans/trailers with a
BPW standard chassis
Art. no. 60010-09300
2. BPW shallow chassis
mounting plate
For caravans/trailers
with a BPW shallow chassis
Art. no. 60010-09400
The Twin Mover is not approved for installation on
caravans/trailers with any other chassis! Any drilling
(except to our supplement instructions for the BPW shallow
chassis) or welding to the chassis is not allowed. Under no cir-
cumstances remove any suspension components from the
chassis.
Approval
Declaration of conformity:
The Carver Movers meets the EMV Directive 89/336/EEC using
the EN 55011 Class B, the EN 61000-4-4, the EN 61000-4-2
and is entitled to bear the CE marking.
In Germany, according § 19, Section 3, No. 4, StVZO together
with the enclosed parts assessment (page 11 to 14), the instal-
lation must be inspected by an approved expert assessor (TÜV,
Dekra). The proof, with confirmation of approval of this modifica-
tion is to be carried in the vehicle. This requirement shall no
longer apply if the vehicle documents have been amended.
When installing the Mover always observe the technical and
administrative rules and regulations of the country in which the
vehicle is to be registered for the first time.

Any modification to the unit, or the use of spare parts and
functionally-important accessories which are not original
Carver components, or failure to respect the installation and
operating instructions, will lead to the cancellation of the guar-
antee and to exclusion of claims for liability. in addition to this,
the operational approval for the device will be cancelled.
Tools and facilities required
To install the Mover you will need:
13 mm AF socket / wrench 13 mm AF combination spanner
17 mm AF socket / wrench 17 mm AF combination spanner
3 mm allen key,
Torque wrench (automotive size), Cable cutter/Crimping tool,
Power drill, Screwdrivers, 25 mm hole cutter, Portable 2 tonne
trolley jack and axle stands to suit, Appropriate lighting
Choice of location
We recommend to fit the Mover behind the rear axle. Under
special circumstances (for example lack of space) the Mover
can also be fitted in front of the front axle. To install the Mover
only the original Carver fitting parts may be used.
Ensure the chassis is in a sound condition, free of rust, debris,
oil and grease and without any damages to the suspension
components.
The caravan must be fitted with the same size and type of tyre
on each wheel; to ensure the wheel diameter is identical, we
recommend to install and set up the mover only with new
tyres, these are to be inflated to manufacturer’s specifications.
The Twin Mover weighs approximately 42 kg. Ensure the
pay load allowance of the caravan can accommodate this.
Installation of the drive units
1. Fig. A: Remove from packaging all components onto floor.
2. Except from the cross actuation tubes, loosely assemble all
parts together to form a cross-tube assembly; do not tighten
the nuts beyond finger tight.
3. Fig. B: Loosely assemble the clamp brackets to the chassis
and tube and position the assemble with each drive roller to
face the road tyre. Ensure the chainguard and back plate is
clear of the tyre shoulder and shock absorber by moving the
motor gearbox assembly inwards or outwards in relation to the
chassis until sufficient clearance is obtained from the gas strut
to prevent fouling.
4. Use the provided spacer to position the correct distance be-
tween the drive rollers and tyre (15 mm), respectively, by slid-
ing each side along the chassis to obtain adjustment. The slid-
ing centre tube will allow the width to change to suit the cara-
van’s chassis. Make sure there is sufficient clearance between
motor housing and floor.
When the rollers are engaged with the tyre, the mini-
mum dimension for „a“ and „b“ is 10 mm (see fig. C).
To ensure the correct height a massive steel block can be laid
between chassis and the Mover. For correct installation in this
case new, longer screws (not included in the scope of supply)
must be used.
5. When positioned on both sides, lightly tighten the bolts and
clamps. Check the spacing (15 mm) again with the caravan’s
weight on its wheels.
6. Fig. D: Check the extension tube is evenly positioned in the
middle. Tighten the 2 bolts up on each side of the centre tube
(15 Nm).
7. Check again with the caravan’s weight on its wheels the
15 mm spacing and fully tighten the remaining bolts (17 mm
AF to 28 Nm).
