his type of dehumidifier. The temperature of

eltier dehumidifiers, however, do not use a
c
ompression refrigerant machine to dehumidify
t
he room air but an integrated Peltier element –

ometimes referred to as TEC
(
thermoelectric

ooler
)
.
T
hese compact, thermoelectric converters are
b
ased on the eponymous Peltier eect which,
i
f current flows between the two parts of the
element’s plate, causes one element side to
become very hot and the other side to become
v
ery cold – with a temperature dierence of up
t

between the hot and cold side.

or process-related reasons, condenser dryers

ith Peltier technology do not require any de

rost system, which is why they can be designed

o be extremely compact and very silent du

o the lack of compressor noise.

owever, these dehumidifiers only have a rel

ively small operating range and low eciency,

hich is only approximately maximally 25% of
t
he compressor eciency, so that thermo

.
Also especially because the performance of sin

gle Peltier elements cannot be scaled to increas

litres per kWh, as they can sometimes be

ers are not
scalable and cannot achieve dehumidi
