Notes on Battery Usage
When you use the batteries, carefully read and strictly observe the Safety
Instructions and the notes described below:
Use only the specified batteries (AA batteries).
Avoid using the batteries in extremely cold environments as low temperatures can
shorten the battery life and reduce digital video camera performance.
Fully charge and discharge battery for one complete cycle prior to first use. Using
new rechargeable batteries, or batteries which have not been used for a long time,
without first charging/discharging may cause the battery life to be shorter than
optimum.
The batteries may feel warm after long period of continuous use of the camera or
the flash. This is normal and not a malfunction.

Turning the Power On/Off
Load the batteries and insert an SD/SDHC memory card before starting.
Press the button until the digital
video camera turns on.
To turn the power off, press the
button again.
The power is turned off automatically when the digital video camera has not been operated for a
defined period of time. To resume operation, turn the power on again. Refer to section in this
manual titled “Power Off” in the Setup Menu for further details.
LED Indicators

Connecting to a PictBridge Compatible Printer
Read this section if the model you purchased is included with the PictBridge functions.
If a printer that supports PictBridge is available, still images can be printed by connecting
the digital video camera directly to the PictBridge-compatible printer without using a com-
puter.
Connecting the camera to the printer
1. Press the button until the digital video
camera turns on.
2. Connect one end of the USB cable to your
digital video camera.
3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the
USB port on the printer.
4. Select [PictBridge] with the c / d buttons, and
press the button.
Printing images
When the digital video camera is properly connected to a PictBridge compliant printer
and set to [PictBridge], the PictBridge menu is displayed on the monitor.
1. Select the item you wish to configure with the
c / d buttons, and press the button.
[Images]:!Sets whether you wish to print a
specific image or all images. You may also
select the printing number for a specific
image.
[Date Print]: Sets whether you wish to print
images with date imprint.
[Print]:!After all settings are set, select [Print]
to start printing.
