Using an AC Power Adapter
Using an AC power adapter prevents the camera from automatically powered
off while transferring files to your computer.
Perform the steps in the preceding section “Charging the Battery”.
Make sure to use only the AC power adapter specified for the digital
video camera. Damage caused by the use of an incorrect adapter is not
covered under the warranty.
Always first unplug the AC power adapter / charger from the power outlet
before unplugging it from the camera.
Make sure that the AC power adapter is always unplugged from the
power outlet when it is not used, as it consumes power even if no camera
is connected, and moreover may increase a risk of danger.
Never expose the battery or AC power adapter to dripping or sprayed
water! Moreover, never put objects or containers filled with liquids (for
example, a vase) onto the camera!
Inserting and Removing an SD Card
Images captured with the camera will be stored on a Secure Digital (SD) memory
card. You must have an SD card in place to use the camera. Before inserting or
removing the SD card, make sure that the power of the camera is off.
Inserting an SD card
1. Open the battery/SD card cover.
2. Insert the SD card in the correct
orientation shown.
Hold the SD card with its front side
(printed arrow) facing the rear side of
the camera, and then insert the card
as far as it can go. There will be a
distinct click as the card seats fully
into the card slot.
3. Close the battery/SD card cover.
Removing an SD card
Open the battery/SD card cover, press lightly on the edge of the SD card and it
will eject.
If the camera is powered on without an SD card inserted, a message “NO
CARD” appears on the LCD monitor.
To prevent valuable data from being accidentally erased from an SD card
you can slide the write-protected tab (on the side of the SD card) to “LOCK”.
However, to save, edit or erase data on an SD card, you must unlock the card.
