5. 1. 5. Allow Access By Passthrough Options
Passthrough Options allow specific services and clients to pass through the modem
router.
¾To allow specific services to pass through the modem router:
1. Visit http://tplinkmodem.net, and log in with the username (admin) and password
(admin or the one customized by you).
2. Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > Options.
3. Follow the explanations to enable the corresponding options. It is recommended to
keep the default settings.
IPSec Passthrough: Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) is a suite of protocols for
ensuring private, secure communications over Internet Protocol (IP) networks,
through the use of cryptographic security services. To allow IPSec tunnels to pass
through the modem router, enable IPSec Passthrough.
PPTP Passthrough: Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) allows the Point-to-Point
Protocol (PPP) to be tunneled through an IP network. To allow PPTP tunnels to pass
through the modem router, enable PPTP Passthrough.
Multicast Enable: Multicasting allows a single transmission to simultaneously reach
specific within your local network. Select the checkbox to enable multicasting.
