Overcasting
For thick and elastic material, or very fine
material:
Overcasting prevents edge of fabric from fraying.
1. Be sure that the declutch knob in the handwheel
is into the ( ) direction.
2. Set pattern selection dial and stitch length
dial as... (fig A)
3. Set the seam allowance under the presser foot
with the edge of fabric in the line with side of the
presser foot. (fig B)
❈ Use zigzag sewing foot or option foot
(overcasting foot).
Overlocking
1. Be sure that the declutch knob in the handwheel
is into the ( ) direction.
2. Set your machine as... (fig C)
Stitch length dial to 5
3. Put two pieces of fabric with the right sides
together to sew. (fig D)
NOTE
To prevent edges from fraying, sew so that the
right side stitches drop outside the edge of the
fabric.
Overlocking stitches can be used for overlocking.
❈ Use zigzag sewing foot or option foot
(overcasting foot).
Surfilage
Pour des tissus épais et élastiques, ou très
beaux:
Surfiler empêche le bord des tissus de s’effilocher.
1. Vérifier que le bouton de débrayage sur le
volant est enclenché comme il faut ( ).
2. Programmer le cadran sélecteur de point, le
cadran sélecteur de la longueur de point
comme indiqué... (fig. A)
3. Régler la couture sous le pied-de-biche avec le
bord du tissu aligné avec le coté du pied-de-
biche. (fig. B)
❈ Utiliser le pied zigzag ou le pied en option (pied-
de-biche pour faufilage).
Surjet
1. Vérifier que le bouton de débrayage sur le
volant est enclenché vers ( ).
2. Régler la machine comme indiqué... (fig. C)
Le cadran sélecteur de la longueur du point sur

3. Placez les deux pièces de l’ouvrage ensemble,
les endroits se faisant face et piquez. (fig. D)
NOTE
Pour empêcher les bords de s’effilocher, coudre
de tel manière que les points extérieurs débordent
du tissu. Dans certains cas, les points surjets
peuvent être utiliser pour faire des ourlets.
❈ Utiliser le pied zigzag ou le pied en option (pied-
de-biche pour faufilage).

  • My stitch selector will only now do zigzag no matter what I do. It will not click and just goes round. I have taken the selector case off and have noticed a crack in the case shaft/shank. Is it possible to get a replacement? Submitted on 29-7-2018 at 17:16
