Batterijpakket en accu (model 2010)

De Prius plug-in hybride beschikt over een hoogspanningsbatterijpakket dat gesloten lithium-ion

(Li-ion) accucellen bevat.

Batterijpakket

 Het batterijpakket bevindt zich in een afgesloten metalen behuizing die stevig bevestigd is op de

dwarsbalk van de bodemplaat in de bagageruimte achter de achterstoelen. De metalen behuizing is

geïsoleerd tegen hoogspanning en in het interieur met vloerbedekking bekleed.

 Het batterijpakket bestaat uit 96 Li-ion-laagspanningsaccucellen (3,6 volt) die in serie geschakeld

zijn en gezamenlijk een spanning produceren van ongeveer 346 volt. Iedere Li-ion-accucel is

vloeistofdicht ondergebracht in een gesloten behuizing.

 De elektrolyt in de Li-ion-accucellen is een organisch oplosmiddel dat lithium-ion bevat. De

elektrolyt is geabsorbeerd in de platen in de elektrode en lekt onder normale omstandigheden niet

uit de batterij, ook niet in geval van een aanrijding.
