4-1. Voordat u gaat rijden

WAARSCHUWING
Neem de volgende voorzorgsmaatregelen in acht.
Het niet in acht nemen van de voorzorgsmaatregelen kan resulteren in ernstig
letsel.
■ Rijden op glad wegdek
● Door plotseling remmen, a ccelereren en sturen kunnen de banden hun
grip verliezen, met controleverlies tot gevolg.
● Door plotseling accelereren, afremmen op de motor als gevolg van scha-
kelen of wijzigingen in het motortoerental kan de auto in een slip raken.
● Trap, nadat u door een plas bent gereden, het rempedaal lichtjes in om
ervoor te zorgen dat de remmen goed werken. Door natte remblokken kan
de remwerking afnemen. Remmen die aan één kant van de auto nat zijn
en niet goed werken, kunnen de besturing bemoeilijken.
■ Bedienen van de selectiehendel
● Auto's met Multidrive CVT: Laat de auto niet achteruit rollen als de vooruit-
versnelling is ingeschakeld of vooruit rollen terwijl de selectiehend el in
stand R staat.
Als dat wel gebeurt, kan de motor afslaan of kan de auto niet op de juiste
manier op rem- en stuurcommando's reageren, waardoor een aanrijding
of schade aan de auto kan ontstaan.
● Auto's met Multidrive CVT: Zet de selectiehendel nooit in stand P terwijl de
auto nog rijdt.
Als u dat wel doet, kan er schade aan de transmissie ontstaan waardoor u
de controle over de auto kunt verliezen.
● Zet de selectiehendel tijdens het vooruitrijden niet in stand R.
Als u dat wel doet, kan er schade aan de transmissie ontstaan waardoor u
de controle over de auto kunt verliezen.
● Zet de selectiehendel tijdens het achteruitrijden niet in stand D (Multidrive
CVT) of de 1e versnelling (handgeschakelde transmissie).
Als u dat wel doet, kan er schade aan de transmissie ontstaan waardoor u
de controle over de auto kunt verliezen.
● Zet de selectiehendel tijdens het rijden niet in stand N. Als u dat wel doet,
wordt de verbinding tussen de motor en de transmissie verbroken. Als de
transmissie in stand N staat, is afremmen op de motor niet mogelijk.
● Auto's met Multidrive CVT: Zet de selectiehendel niet in een andere stand
als het gaspedaal is ingetrapt. Als d e selectiehendel in een andere st and
dan P of N wordt gezet, kan de auto onverwacht snel accelereren, waar-
door een aanrijding en ernstig letsel kunnen ontstaan.
