How to change the settings
Tap [Scan] on the home screen, then tap [Scan Setting], and then change the settings.
Specifying the color mode
Tap [Color Mode], and then select the color mode from the items displayed.
[Black]: Select this to scan in black and white.
[Gray Scale]: Select this to scan in gray scale.
[Full Color]: Select this to scan in full color.
[Auto Color]: Select this to scan by automatically selecting the color mode.
Specifying the resolution
Tap [Resolution], and then select the resolution from the items displayed.
Selecting the original mode
Select the original mode by tapping [Original Mode].
[Text]: For originals containing text
[Text/Photo]: For originals containing text and photos
[Photo]: For originals containing photos
Changing the orientation
Tap [Rotation], then select the rotation method, and then tap [OK].
Scanning 2-sided originals
Tap [Single / 2-Sided Scan], then select the setting, and then tap [OK].
[Single]: Select this to scan the single side of the originals.
[Book]: Select this to scan both sides of the originals in the same direction (open to left).
[Tablet]: Select this to scan both sides of the originals in the reverse direction (open to top).
Specifying the original size
Tap [Original Size], then select the original size, and then tap [OK].
[Auto]: Select this to automatically detect the original size.
[Mixed Original Sizes]: Select this when placing originals of different sizes on the Automatic Document Feeder.
Changing the compression ratio
Select the ratio from the items displayed.
[Low]: Select this to lower the compression ratio and enhance the image quality.
[Mid]: Select this to apply the standard compression ratio and obtain the average image quality.
[High]: Select this to apply the high compression ratio. This is suitable for minimizing the data size rather than
enhancing the image quality.
Removing blank pages
To remove blank pages in the scanned data, set the “Omit Blank Page” setting to [On].
Erasing black frames around images
To erase the black outer frame around an original, set the “Outside Erase” setting to [On].
You can set the reference for detecting the boundary between the image and the outer frame under “Range
Adjustment”. The higher the level, the more area is erased.
Adjusting exposure
To adjust the density of the scanned data, adjust the “Exposure” setting.
