8.7 Replacing the galvanic anodes
The galvanic anodes are wear parts which must be checked and replaced regularly.
They protect the motor from corrosion. It is not necessary to remove the propeller to
replace them. In total, there are four galvanic anodes to replace. The anodes must be
replaced as complete sets.
ADVICE
Regularly check the galvanic anodes, at the latest after 6 months. If necessary,
change anodes only as complete sets. When you use your Cruise system in fresh
water, use the aluminium anodes included in the scope of delivery. When you
use your Cruise system in salt water, use the zinc anodes available as accessories.

1. Loosen the screws (2), and remove the half ring anodes (1).
2. Loosen the screws (5), and remove pylon anode (4).
3. Insert the new galvanic anode.
4. Screw the galvanic anode into place (2 Nm) and secure it with e.g. Loctite 248.
5. Replace the spent shaft anode with a new shaft anode (3), using an open-end
M32 spanner.
