5.6.2 Commissioning the on-board computer with Power 48 5000
battery
In order for commissioning to run correctly, the Cruise system must be able to com-
municate with the batteries which are present.
To set up communication between battery and the Cruise system, a once-off regis-
tration of the batteries with the system is necessary.
1. Confirm the correct wiring of the battery bank with the motor. For this, also
check the connections of power and data cables within the battery bank.
2. Set the main switch in the cable set to ON.
3. Press the On/Off button of the motor's remote throttle.
4. While the system is starting up (all symbols are displayed simultaneously), press
the CAL button immediately.
The components of the Cruise system connect with each other.
ENU (enumeration) and the progress indicator are shown on the display.
After the process is complete, twice the number of connected
Power 48 5000 batteries is displayed.
5. Restart the system using the On/Off button.
The state of charge can be read from the display.
ADVICE
If batteries are replaced, the enumeration must be re-executed.
5.6.3 Commissioning the on-board computer with
external batteries
1. Proceed as described in steps 1 to 3 in Chapter 5.6.2, "Commissioning the on-
board computer with Power 48 5000 battery".
2. Press the Set-up button in order to access the Set-up menu.
3. Use the CAL button to select the information on battery configuration in the on-
board computer.
Select between Li for lithium or Pb for lead gel or AGM batteries.
4. Confirm your selection using the Set-up button.
5. Enter the size (in Ampere hours) of the battery bank connected to the motor.
Because the selection covers a wide range of options, the value is selected
using the throttle.
6. Confirm your selection using the Set-up button.
Making this selection exits the Set-up menu.
ADVICE
Please note that two batteries connected in series, each of 12 Volt and 200 Ah,
have a combined capacity of 200 Ah (and not 400 Ah) at 24 Volt.
ADVICE
The displays of percent capacity and the remaining range are possible only after
set-up and the initial calibration have been completed, see Chapter 6.2.1, "Use
of the battery status display when using external batteries".
