5Blodtryk
5.1 Hvad er blodtrykket?
Blodtrykket er det tryk, der udøves på arterien mens der strømmer blod
igennem arterierne. Det tryk, der måles når hjertet trækker sig sammen og
sender blod ud af hjertet er systolisk (højest). Det tryk, der måles når
hjertet udvider sig mens blodet strømmer ind i hjertet kaldes diastolisk (lavest)
blodtryk.
5.2 Hvorfor måle dit blodtryk?
Iblandt de forskellige sundhedsproblemer, der plager moderne mennesker er
problemer i forbindelse med for højt blodtryk den mest almindelige. For højt
blodtryk har en farlig stærk sammenhæng med kardiovaskulære sygdomme
og høj dødelighed har gjort blodtryksmålinger til en nødvendighed, for at kunne
identificere de mennesker, der er i risikogruppen.
5.3 Blodtryksstandard
World Health Organization (WHO) og National High Blood Pressure Education
Program har udviklet en blodtryksstandard, hvortil der er defineret områder
med lav- og høj-risiko blodtryk. Denne standard er dog en almen vejledning, da
den individuelles blodtryk varierer blandt forskellige folk og grupper...etc.
Det er vigtigt, at du konsulterer din læge regelmæssigt. Din læge vil fortælle dig,
hvad dit normale blodtryksområde er samt om det punkt, hvor du vil blive anset
for at være i risikogruppen.
