1. Quítese el reloj, las joyas, etc. antes de colocarse
el manguito.
2. Para determinar donde está su pulso más fuerte
presione la arteria braquial con dos dedos
aproximadamente 2,5 cm por encima del codo en
la parte interna del brazo izquierdo.
3. Deslice el extremo del manguito opuesto al tubo
por la anilla de metal formando un lazo. El tejido
más suave debe quedar por el lado interior del
manguito. El velcro debe quedar por el lado
exterior del manguito.
4. Introduzca el brazo izquierdo por el lazo que
forma el manguito. El extremo inferior del
manguito debe estar a 1,5 cm aproximadamente
por encima del codo. El manguito debe apoyarse
sobre la arteria braquial por la parte interna del
brazo.
5. Tire del manguito de manera que los extremos
superior e inferior se ajusten al brazo.
6. Cuando el manguito esté bien colocado, presione
con fuerza ambas partes del velcro. La anilla de
metal no entrará en contacto con la piel.
7. Relaje todo el cuerpo, especialmente la zona
entre el codo y los dedos. Coloque el codo sobre
una mesa de forma que el manguito quede al
mismo nivel que el corazón. No se incline hacia
atrás mientras se toma la medición.
