1 Before Initial use
Thank you for purchasing this new desktop telephone.
1.1 Intended Purpose
This product is intend to be connected indoor to an analogue PSTN telephone line.
1.2 Connection
This device has been designed and manufactured to comply with the 98/482/EC
rule, referent to the Pan European connection of a terminal to the Public Switching
Telephone Network (PSTN) and following the established guidelines by the
1999/5/EC Directive about radio electric equipments and the reciprocal
acknowledge of their conformity. However, due to the fact that there are some
differences in the PSTNs from one country to another, the verifying
measurements by themselves do not set up an unconditional guarantee for an
optimal working in every connection point to the PSTN of any country .If any
problem comes up, get in touch firstly with the distributor.
In any case, use conditions for which the product has been created should be
respected as well as avoid its use in public or private networks with technical
requirements clearly different to those established in the EU.
2 Cleaning
Clean the telephone with a slightly damp cloth or with an anti-static cloth. Never use
cleaning agents or abrasive solvents.
3 Disposal of the device (environment)
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product into
the normal household garbage but bring the product to a collection point
for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipments. The symbol on
the product, user guide and/or box indicate this.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you bring them to a recycling point.
By re-using some parts or raw materials from used products you make an important
contribution to the protection of the environment.Please contact your local
authorities in case you need more information on the collection points in your area.

4 Safety advice
• Do not operate the equipment if the telephone cable or the equipment itself is
damaged.
• If the equipment is dropped, it must be checked by an electrician before further
use.
• Dangerous voltages are present inside the equipment. Never open the housing
or insert objects through the ventilation holes.
• Do not allow liquids to get into the equipment. In case of emergency, pull out
the plug from the socket.
• Similarly, if a fault develops during use or before you start to clean the
equipment, pull the plug out of the socket.
• Do not touch plug contacts with sharp or metal objects.
• Do not carry out any modifications or repairs to the equipment yourself. Have
repairs done to the equipment or the mains cable only by a specialist service
centre. Unsatisfactory repairs can lead to considerable danger for the user.
• Children frequently underestimate the dangers associated with electrical
equipment. Therefore you must never leave children unsupervised in the
vicinity of electrical equipment.
• The equipment is not to be used in a damp room (e.g. bathrooms) or rooms
where there is a lot of dust.
• Equipment connected to the telephone line during a thunderstorm can be
damaged by lightning. Therefore you should pull the plug out of the main socket
during a storm.
The following safety advice must always be followed before using
electrical equipment.
Please read carefully through the following information
concerning safety and proper use. Make yourself familiar with all
the functions of the equipment. Be careful to keep these advice
notes and if necessary pass them on to a third party.

6 Installing the line cord
For installation, do the following:
• Put the telephone on a flat surface.
• Plug one end of the linecord into the telephone wall outlet and the other end
into the Line connector on the backside of the telephone (11).

7 Getting started
7.1 Making a phone call
To make a phone call, pick up the receiver or press the Handsfree button . Enter
the telephone number.
Note: The call duration timer is shown on the display [mm:ss].
7.2 Last number redial
The Axiss saves the last dialled telephone numbers in the redial memory.
1. Pick up the receiver or press the handsfree button .
2. Press , the number will be dialled automatically.
Note: The Redial button can also be used as a Pause button while
entering a telephone number ! The letter ‘P’ appears on the display on the
location where you have added a pause of 3 sec.
7.3 Mute
It is possible to mute the microphone during a conversation by pressing and holding
the mute button . You can now talk freely without the caller hearing you.
Release the Mute button if you want to resume your conversation.
7.4 Ringer volume
When you receive a phone call, the unit will ring. The ring volume can be adjusted
by means of the Ring Volume switch at the back of the phone (Hi- , Lo- ). (13)
7.5 Flash Key
Press the Flash button (R) to use certain services as ‘Call Waiting’ (if this service is
provided by your telephone company); or to transfer phone calls when you are
using a telephone exchange (PABX).
The flashtime can be selected by the switch (12) on the back of the phone (100/300
ms).
Before changing the flashtime switch, the line cord must be disconnected.

8 Memory numbers
You can program 10 indirect memory numbers (0-9) and 3 direct memory
numbers(M1-M3) in the phone’s memory.
8.1 Programming an indirect memory number
• Pick up the handset or press the handsfree button .
• Press the program button on the backside of the telephone.
• Enter the telephone number.
• Press the program button on the backside of the telephone.
• Press the desired memory location 0..9 (numerical buttons).
• Put the handset back on the phone or press the handsfree button .
8.2 Programming a direct memory number
• Pick up the handset or press the handsfree button .
• Press the program button on the backside of the telephone.
• Enter the telephone number.
• Press the desired direct memory button M1-M3.
• Put the handset back on the phone or press the handsfree button .
8.3 Calling an indirect memory number
• Pick up the handset and press the Memory button .
• Press the number of the memory location (0-9), the programmed number will
be dialled automatically.
8.4 Calling an direct memory number
• Pick up the handset
• Press the desired direct memory button M1-M3, the programmed number will
be dialled automatically

10 Topcom warranty
10.1 Warranty period
The Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on
the day the new unit is purchased.
Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the
equipment are not covered.
The warranty has to be proven by presentation of the original purchase receipt, on
which the date of purchase and the unit-model are indicated.
10.2 Warranty handling
A faulty unit needs to be returned to a Topcom service centre including a valid
purchase note.
If the unit develops a fault during the warranty period, Topcom or its officially
appointed service centre will repair any defects caused by material or
manufacturing faults free of charge.
Topcom will at its discretion fulfil its warranty obligations by either repairing or
exchanging the faulty units or parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement,
colour and model can be different from the original purchased unit.
The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The
warranty period is not extended if the unit is exchanged or repaired by Topcom or
its appointed service centres.
10.3 Warranty exclusions
Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage
resulting from use of non-original parts or accessories not recommended by
Topcom are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as lightning,
water and fire, nor any damage caused during transportation.
No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the units has been changed,
removed or rendered illegible.

1 Vor der ersten Verwendung
Wir danken Ihnen für den Kauf dieses neuen Schreibtischtelefons.
1.1 Verwendungszweck
Dieses Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen analogen PSTN-Telefonanschluss im
Haus hergestellt.
2 Anschluss
Dieses Gerät wurde entsprechend der Richtlinie 98/482/EG, unter Einhaltung der
paneuropäischen Verbindung eines Endgeräts mit dem Public Switching
Telephone Network (PSTN) und nach den geltenden Bestimmungen der Richtlinie
1999/5/EG zu funkelektrischen Geräten und der gegenseitigen Anerkennung ihrer
Konformität entwickelt und produziert. Wegen der Tatsache, dass es einige
Unterschiede in den PSTNs der einzelnen Länder geben kann, bilden jedoch die
Prüfmessungen an sich keine uneingeschränkte Garantie für eine optimale
Funktion in jedem Anschlusspunkt des PSTN aller Länder. Wenn ein Problem
auftreten sollte, sollten Sie sich zuerst an den Händler wenden.
In jedem Fall sollten die Umstände, für welche das Produkt entwickelt wurde,
eingehalten werden, sowie vermieden werden, dass es in öffentlichen oder privaten
Netzwerken verwendet wird, deren technische Anforderungen sich eindeutig von
denen der EU unterscheiden.
3 Reinigung
Reinigen Sie das Telefon mit einem feuchten Tuch oder mit einem antistatischen
Tuch. Verwenden Sie nie Reinigungsmittel oder Scheuermittel.
4 Entsorgung des Geräts (Umwelt)
Am Ende der Lebensdauer des Produkts sollten Sie dieses Produkt nicht
in den normalen Hausmüll werfen, sondern an einer Sammelstelle für die
Aufbereitung von elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten abgeben.
Das Symbol am Produkt, in der Gebrauchsanweisung und/oder
Verpackung zeigt das an.
Einige der Materialien des Produkts können wiederverwertet werden, wenn man sie
in einer Aufbereitungsstelle abgibt. Mit der Wiederverwertung einiger Teile oder
Rohmaterialien aus gebrauchten Produkten liefern Sie einen wichtigen Beitrag zum
Umweltschutz.

5 Sicherheitshinweis
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn das Telefonkabel oder das Gerät selbst
beschädigt ist.
• Wenn das Gerät gefallen ist, muss es vor dem weiteren Betrieb von einem
Elektriker kontrolliert werden.
• Im Gerät gibt es gefährliche Spannungen. Öffnen Sie nie das Gehäuse und
stecken Sie keine Gegenstände durch die Belüftungsöffnungen.
• Sorgen Sie dafür, dass keine Flüssigkeiten in das Gerät gelangen können.
Ziehen Sie im Notfall den Stecker aus der Steckdose.
• Ziehen Sie den Stecker auch dann aus der Steckdose, wenn beim Gebrauch
ein Fehler auftritt oder bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen möchten.
• Berühren Sie die Steckkontakte nicht mit scharfen oder metallischen
Gegenständen.
• Ändern oder reparieren Sie das Gerät nicht selbst. Lassen Sie Reparaturen
am Gerät oder dem Stromanschlusskabel nur von einem spezialisierten
Kundendienst durchführen. Unzulängliche Reparaturen können beträchtliche
Gefahren für den Benutzer verursachen.
• Kinder unterschätzen oft die Gefahren elektrischer Geräte. Lassen Sie Kinder
darum nie ohne Aufsicht in der Nähe von elektrischen Geräten.
• Das Gerät sollte nicht in einem feuchten Raum (z.B. Badezimmer) oder
Räumen mit viel Staub betrieben werden.
• Geräte, die bei einem Gewitter an der Telefonleitung angeschlossen sind,
können durch Blitzschlag beschädigt werden. Darum sollten Sie bei einem
Sturm den Stecker aus dem Telefonanschluss ziehen.
Der folgende Sicherheitshinweis muss immer eingehalten
werden, wenn Sie elektrische Geräte verwenden.
Lesen Sie die folgenden Angaben bezüglich Sicherheit und
korrekter Verwendung sorgfältig. Machen Sie sich mit allen
Funktionen des Geräts vertraut. Bewahren Sie diese
Empfehlungen sorgfältig und geben Sie sie eventuell an Dritte
weiter.

7 Telefonkabel anschließen
Für die Installation gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
• Stellen Sie das Telefon auf eine ebene Oberfläche.
• Verbinden Sie ein Ende des Telefonkabels mit dem Telefonwandanschluss und
das andere mit dem Telefonanschluss an der Rückseite des Telefons.

8 Vorbereitung
8.1 Einen Anruf tätigen
Zum Anrufen nehmen Sie den Empfänger ab oder drücken Sie die
Freisprechtaste . Geben Sie die Telefonnummer ein.
Anmerkung: Die Anrufdauer wird im Display angezeigt [mm:ss].
8.2 Wahlwiederholung der letzten Nummer
Das Axiss speichert die zuletzt gewählten Telefonnummern im
Wahlwiederholungsspeicher.
1. Nehmen Sie den Empfänger ab oder drücken Sie die Freisprechtaste. .
2. Drücken Sie , die Telefonnummer wird automatisch gewählt.
Anmerkung: Die Wahlwiederholungstaste kann bei der Eingabe einer
Telefonnummer auch als Pausentaste verwendet werden! Im Display
erscheint an der Stelle, an der Sie eine 3-sekündige Pause eingefügt haben,
der Buchstabe ’P’.
8.3 Stummschaltung
Es ist möglich das Mikrofon während eines Gesprächs stumm zu schalten, indem
Sie die Stummschalttaste (Mute) drücken und halten. Sie können nun frei
sprechen, ohne dass der Anrufer Sie hört.
Lassen Sie die Stummschalttaste los, wenn Sie zu Ihrem Gespräch
zurückkehren möchten.
8.4 Klingellautstärke
Wenn Sie einen Telefonanruf erhalten, klingelt das Gerät. Die Klingellautstärke
kann mit dem Klingellautstärkeschalter an der Rückseite des Telefons (Hi- , Lo-
) eingestellt werden. (13)
8.5 Flash-Taste
Drücken Sie die Flaschtaste (R) um diverse Dienste wie ’Call Waiting’ (wenn dieser
Service von Ihrer Telefongesellschaft unterstützt wird) zu nutzen; oder Anrufe
weiterzuleiten, wenn Sie eine Telefonzentrale (PABX) verwenden.
Die Flash-Zeit kann mit dem Schalter (12) an der Rückseite des Telefons selektiert
werden (100/300/600 ms).
Bevor Sie den Flashzeit-Schalter verändern, muss das Telefonkabel entfernt
werden.

• Legen Sie das Mobilteil wieder auf das Telefon oder drücken Sie die
Freisprechtaste. .
9.2 Eine direkte Speichernummer programmieren
• Nehmen Sie das Mobilteil ab oder drücken Sie die Freisprechtaste. .
• Drücken Sie die Programmtaste an der Rückseite des Telefons.
• Geben Sie die Telefonnummer ein.
• Drücken Sie die gewünschte Direktwahltaste M1-M3.
• Legen Sie das Mobilteil wieder auf das Telefon oder drücken Sie die
Freisprechtaste. .
9.3 Eine indirekte Speichernummer anrufen
• Nehmen Sie das Mobilteil ab und drücken Sie die Speichertaste. .
• Drücken Sie die Nummer des Speicherplatzes (0-9), die programmierte
Nummer wird automatisch gewählt.
9.4 Eine direkte Speichernummer anrufen
• Nehmen Sie das Mobilteil ab.
• Drücken Sie die gewünschte Direktspeichertaste M1-M3, die programmierte
Nummer wird automatisch gewählt.

11 Topcom Garantie
11.1 Garantiezeit
Topcom Geräte haben eine 24-monatige Garantiezeit. Die Garantiezeit beginnt an
dem Tag, an dem das neue Gerät erworben wurde.
Verschleißartikel oder Mängel, die den Wert oder die Gebrauchstauglichkeit des
Gerätes nur unerheblich beeinflussen, sind von der Garantie ausgeschlossen.
Der Garantieanspruch muss durch den Originalkaufbeleg, auf dem das Kaufdatum
und das Gerätemodell ersichtlich sind, nachgewiesen werden.
11.2 Abwicklung des Garantiefalles
Senden Sie das fehlerhafte Gerät mit dem gültigen Kaufbeleg an ein Topcom
Service Zentrum.
Tritt ein Gerätefehler innerhalb der Garantiezeit auf, übernimmt Topcom oder ein
autorisiertes Service Zentrum unentgeltlich die Reparatur jedes durch einen
Material- oder Herstellerfehler aufgetretenen Defekts.
Topcom wird nach eigenem Ermessen die Garantieansprüche mittels Reparatur
oder Austausch des fehlerhaften Gerätes oder von Teilen des fehlerhaften Gerätes
erfüllen. Bei einem Austausch können die Farbe und das Modell vom eigentlich
erworbenen Gerät abweichen.
Das ursprüngliche Kaufdatum bestimmt den Beginn der Garantiezeit. Die
Garantiezeit verlängert sich nicht, wenn das Gerät von Topcom oder von einem
seiner autorisierten Service Zentren ausgetauscht oder repariert wird.
11.3 Garantieausschlüsse
Schäden oder Mängel, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder Betrieb
verursacht wurden, sowohl als auch Defekte, die durch die Verwendung von Nicht-
Originalteilen oder die Verwendung von nicht von Topcom empfohlenen Zubehör
entstehen, werden nicht von der Garantie abgedeckt.
Die Garantie deckt keine Schäden ab, die durch äußere Einflüsse entstanden sind,
wie z.B. Blitzeinschlag, Wasser, Brände oder auch jegliche Transportschäden.
Wenn die Seriennummer des Gerätes verändert, entfernt oder unleserlich gemacht
wurde, kann keine Garantie in Anspruch genommen werden.

1 Avant la première utilisation
Merci d’avoir acheté ce nouveau téléphone de bureau.
1.1 Utilisation prévue
Ce produit a été conçu pour être connecté à l’intérieur à une ligne téléphonique
analogique PSTN.
2 Connexion
Cet appareil a été conçu et fabriqué pour satisfaire à la norme 98/482/EC, en
référence à la connexion paneuropéenne d’un terminal au Public Switching
Telephone Network (PSTN) et suivant les directives établies par la Directive 1999/
5/EC sur les équipements radioélectriques et la reconnaissance réciproque de leur
conformité. Toutefois, étant donné qu’il existe certaines différences dans les PSTN
d’un pays à l’autre, les mesures de vérification en elles-mêmes ne constituent pas
une garantie inconditionnelle du fonctionnement optimal dans tous les points de
connexion au PSTN d’un quelconque pays. Si des problèmes surviennent, veuillez
contacter votre distributeur en premier lieu.
En tous cas, le client est tenu de respecter les conditions d’utilisation pour
lesquelles le produit a été créé ainsi que d’éviter d’utiliser le produit dans des
réseaux privés ou publics clairement différents de ceux établis dans l’Union
européenne.
3 Nettoyage
Nettoyez le téléphone avec un tissu légèrement humide ou avec un chiffon
antistatique. N’utilisez jamais d’agents de nettoyage ou de solvants abrasifs.
4 Mise au rebut de l’appareil (environnement)
Au terme du cycle de vie de ce produit, vous ne devez pas jeter le
produit dans les déchets ménagers ordinaires mais le déposer dans un
point de collecte pour le recyclage des équipements électriques et
électroniques. Le symbole sur ce produit, guide d’utilisation et / ou
boîte indique ceci.
Certains matériaux du produit peuvent être réutilisés si vous les déposez dans un
point de recyclage. En réutilisant certaines pièces ou matières premières des
produits usagés, vous apportez une contribution importante à la protection de
l’environnement.
Veuillez contacter vos autorités locales pour toute information supplémentaire sur
les points de collecte dans votre région.
