PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Before using the coee machine for the rst me, proceed as follows: Unpack the coee machine and remove all packaging
material. Keep the packaging (plasc bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Aer unpacking the appliance, carefully check
it for external damage that may have occurred during transport.
Place the coee machine on a at surface. It is best to clean the interior of the new coee machine prior to using it for the rst
me. This is done by lling the water reservoir with cold water and using the appliance two to three mes without coee.
Clean the glass jug and lter holder with hot soapy water, then rinse properly and wipe dry. Never use scouring sponges,
steel wool or other abrasives!
Important: Only use cold water for cleaning the inside of the coee machine. Hot water has a negave eect on the coee
machine's life span.
Check that the voltage stated on the informaon plate matches the voltage used in your region. Place the coee machine on
a at, stable surface. Insert the plug in an earthed wall socket.
1. Fold the cover of the water reservoir upwards and ll the reservoir using the glass jug unl the required level
(the stripes indicate the number of cups). Do not ll the reservoir above the MAX indicaon. Close the cover.
2. Turn the lter holder open and place the permanent lter or a paper lter bag (size 1 x 4) with the edges folded.
This prevents the lter bag from folding inwards and closing. Add the required coee (extra-ne grind) and soly shake it
to aen out the coee. For 10 cups, according to taste, you can use 5 to 6 measuring spoons of coee, or 6 grams of coee
per cup. In case of a smaller number of cups, you can change the amount of coee accordingly.
3. Turn back the lter holder to close it.
4. Place the glass jug horizontally on the hot plate.
5. Then switch on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF buon on the operang panel. The indicator led lights up.
The hot plate under the glass jug is now switched on automacally.
6. Once the lter process has been completed, remove the glass jug from the hot plate and pour out the coee.
7. Coee tastes best immediately aer it has been made, so do not wait too long before serving. The glass jug can immediately
be placed back on the hot plate or you can pour the coee into a thermos jug.
Aenon: This coee machine comes with a drip stop. This means that the ow of coee is stopped immediately when the
glass jug is removed. The lter holder is closed o, as a result of which the ow of coee is stopped. Be sure to place back the
glass jug as quickly as possible to prevent the lter from overowing. If you want to interrupt the coee making process for
a longer period of me, press the on/o buon to switch o the coee machine. When making coee, do not touch the cover
to prevent burns due to hot steam.
MAKING COFFEE
Aer use, always switch o the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF buon. The indicator led switches o.
The coee machine keeps the coee warm for 40 minutes. Aer these 40 minutes the coee machine switches o automacally.
Do not forget to remove the paper lter bag and throw it away or to remove the permanent lter and rinse it clean. Turn the
lter holder open and remove the lter. Throw away the lter bag. When using the permanent lter, empty it, clean it and use
it again.
