Für die Identizierung gibt es vier weitverbreitete Methoden: die Adobe-ID, die
tolino-Anmeldung, die »Apple-Welt« und das »Amazon-Modell«. Während
Apple und Amazon ihr eigenes Süppchen kochen, sind die Adobe-ID und die
tolino-Welt oen für viele Partner.
Solange Sie in der tolino-Welt bleiben, ist der Zugrisschutz für Sie sehr
komfortabel geregelt. Nach dem Kauf eines Buches ist es in der tolino Cloud
verfügbar und wird automatisch beim Synchronisieren auf Ihren tolino
übertragen. Nur bei DRM-geschützen Büchern (das sind nur wenige) erhalten
Sie auch in der Cloud zunächst nur eine sogenannte ACSM-Datei, für die Sie
eine Adobe-ID brauchen, um das Buch im EPUB-Format auf den tolino laden
zu können. Wenn Sie eine solche Adobe-ID auf Ihrem tolino hinterlegt haben,
merken Sie zum »normalen« Vorgang keinen Unterschied, da das Gerät alle
nötigen Schritte nach dem Antippen des E-Books in Ihrer Bibliothek
automatisch erledigt. Allerdings haben ACSM-Dateien ein eingebautes
Verfallsdatum. Meistens sind sie nur 24 Stunden gültig, sodass Sie ein frisch
erworbenes Buch innerhalb dieser Zeitspanne wenigstens einmal geönet
haben sollten, da ansonsten die EPUB-Datei nicht mehr geladen werden kann.
Sollte ein solcher Fall einmal bei Ihnen eintreten, wenden Sie sich an den
Kundendienst des E-Book-Shops.
Sie benötigen die Adobe-ID übrigens auch, wenn Sie E-Books aus Ihrer
Bücherei ausleihen möchten. (Lesen Sie dazu Abschnitt5.5 »E-Books
leihen«)
Sie können mehrere Geräte beziehungsweise Softwareinstallationen
(meistens fünf Stück) mit Ihrer Adobe-ID registrieren.
