either you or the called party hangs up. If the called
party does not press the "5" key within 60 seconds,
your phone breaks the connection and calls the
next emergency number entered.
Confirming with the "5" key ensures that a person
and not an answer machine has picked up the
phone at the called party, and that there is no au-
tomatic announcement by the network operator. If
the call is not accepted, the phone calls the next
emergency number stored. If a connection to a per-
son cannot be established on any of the emergency
numbers, the phone repeats up to three times in
succession all emergency numbers entered.
If confirmed emergency call is not set, the emer-
gency call is ended after a connection is estab-
lished. No more emergency numbers are then
called.
Whilst the telephone is calling one of the emergen-
cy numbers, the number is displayed. Since the call
is made in hands-free mode, you can hear whether
the called party picks up.
After an outgoing emergency call (regardless of
whether accepted and acknowledged, unsuccess-
ful, not acknowledged or interrupted), the phone
automatically accepts incoming calls and switches
to hands-free mode. This allows contact with an in-
capacitated person even if the emergency call has
