Dear customer
we are pleased that you have decided to purchase our
product and hope you enjoy using it. However, it is im-
portant that before fi tting your roof box you read these
instructions carefully. We hope you have lots of fun with
your new roof box!!
Before itting the roof box
This roof box fi ts all common roof racks with the following
supporting rod dimensions:
Max. width: 80 mm
Height: 15 mm to 32 mm
The holes already drilled into the fl oor of the roof box
mean that the bars of the roof rack have to be positio-
ned as follows:
Minimum distance 540 mm
Maximum distance 990 mm
For reasons of stability, the distance between the bars of the
roof rack should always be positioned as far apart as possible
unless the vehicle or roof rack manufacturer states otherwise.
The roof box, once fi tted, should not project out at the rear
or the front of the vehicle. If possible position the roof box
so that the bonnet and boot can be opened easily. If you
wish to fi x the roof box to a roof rack with T-groove racks,
we can provide roof rack specifi c adapters. These adapters
can be purchased from the dealer.
Fitting the roof box
Once you have determined the correct position of the roof
box on the roof rack taking the above mentioned factors into
consideration, fi x the roof box to the roof rack as described
below.
To do this push the fi xing brackets from below around the
roof rack and through the drilled holes in the fl oor of the
roof top cargo box.
Tighten the thumb nuts equally by hand. To ensure that the
roof box is attached securely the thumb nuts must be tighte-
ned with a torque of between 2 - 2.5 Nm - this torque can be
easily achieved without the help of tools.
Please ensure that the fi xing brackets are fi tted equally.
Open drill holes
Please cover the open drill holes using the stickers provided
once the roof box has been attached.
Loading the roof box
The maximum load for your roof box is 50 kg. Never exceed
the permissible roof load for your vehicle (see operating in-
structions of the vehicle).
Make sure that you distribute the load in the roof box evenly
as described and note the loading height of the closed roof
box.
Securing the loads in the roof box
Always secure the luggage in the roof box using suitable
belts (depending on the roof box model, either included
in delivery or available as an accessory).
If you are transporting skis, they must be secured with the
appropriate belts and/ or ski holders (depending on roof box
model either included in delivery or available as an
accessory).
Order no. for ski holders:
Type 500, 310 - order no.: 698
Type 700, 470 - order no.: 699
Type 900, 570 - order no.: 700
