Precautions
Important warnings
Verify the product’s integrity before every use.
Do not use the device if it is damaged.
Before using this product, check that:
• it is stable and rigid,
• the brakes are working properly,
• the wheels are in good condition and turn freely,
no components are incorrectly attached or not properly
screwed in place.
The health care professional who supplied the product must
make sure that it is appropriate for the patient.
It is recommended that a health care professional assembles
and adjusts the device and supervises the first use. In
particular, it is essential that they check and adjust the
tension of the brake cables.
Follow the advice of the health care professional who
prescribed or supplied the product and consult them in case
of doubt.
Do not use the device for any use other than its intended
use: risk of injury or damage to equipment.
Never allow children to play with the product.
Beware of the risks of pinching when handling the device.
Always completely unfold the rollator before use.
Do not make any mechanical changes to the device, this
could compromise its safety. Only original spare parts and
accessories have to be used.
Take care when using the device on slippery surfaces (wet,
snow-covered or icy floors or wet tiles, etc.), uneven, sloping
or unstable surfaces (gravel, sand, leaves, etc.).
Do not use on stairs or escalators.
Do not leave exposed to direct sunlight for a long period
of time. Check the temperature of the device surfaces,
particularly before sitting down on the seat: risk of burns.
Undesirable side-effect
Risk of discomfort in the event of incorrect adjustment of
the device.
Danger of falling or loss of balance, which can lead to
serious injuries.
Any serious incidents occurring related to the device should
be reported to the manufacturer and to the competent
authority of the Member State in which the user and/or
patient is resident.
Instructions for use
Unfolding
1. Installing the wheels
Place the rollator on one side Unscrew and remove the rear
wheel support knob nut, then unfold the rear wheel support
until the holes are aligned. Put the knob nut back in place,
making sure it is fully tightened.
Proceed in the same manner for the front wheel. Then
place the rollator on the other side and repeat the same
operations.
2. Opening the rollator
Place the rollator on its wheels, and pull the handles apart.
Push on the side tubes of the seat until the mechanism
engages, to lock the rollator in the open position.
3. Installing the backrest
Position the backrest correctly , then slide the ends of the
backrest downwards into the rollator supports provided for
that purpose .
Then fix the backrest in place by fully tightening the screws.
4. Fitting the shopping bag
The shopping bag should be installed at the front of the two
supports on either side of the seat.
5. Fitting the stick holder
Clip part to the bottom of the left or right tube. Part
should be inserted into the notch at the top of the tube, just
below the handle.
Adjusting the handle height
The height of the device must be adjusted with reference to
the height of the patient. Incorrect adjustment can impair
performance and place too much strain on the user. The
top of the handle must be approximately at the height of
the wrist fold when the user’s arms are alongside the body,
wearing usual shoes.
Press the push-buttons while pulling the handle in order
to adjust the height. Make sure that the handles are xed
at the same height on both sides. Check that the push-
buttons are properly engaged before use.
Folding
To fold up the rollator, pull the seat strap upwards.
Once folded, the rollator stands on its own.
To fold up the rollator completely for easier transport,
place the handles in the low position then fold up the rear
wheel supports. Fold up the front wheels if necessary.
Braking system
• Quick braking
To brake, hold on to the handles and squeeze the brake
levers.
• Parking brakes
To immobilize the rollator (e.g., before sitting down),
carefully push the brake levers down until they lock (click).
To start moving again, gently squeeze the levers to release
the brakes.
Adjusting the brakes
- If braking is not sucient, loosen the locknut and turn
the adjustment screw anticlockwise.
- If braking is too hard, proceed as above but turn the
screw clockwise. Remember to tighten the locknut
again after adjusting to the optimal setting.
Curb-climber:
This rollator is tted with a curb-climber to make it easier to
negotiate obstacles.
Important warnings
Before using the seat:
• check that the rollator is on a flat, stable surface,
it is essential for the brakes to be in the “parking brakes”
position.
Do not sit at an angle or lean to the side or back.
The rollator seat is only intended for taking short rests.
Do not attach handbags, carrier bags or any objects other
than those supplied with the device: risk of tipping.
The device must not be used as an aid to get up from the
sitting position: risk of unbalancing.
Maintenance and care
Maintenance
If any part of the device becomes detached, loose or visibly
damaged, contact a specialized dealer or health care
professional.
If necessary, replacement parts and original accessories are
available from your Thuasne product dealer.
Care
Clean with a mild cleaning agent and a soft cloth.
Do not clean the handles or the wheels with greasy
substances: risk of slipping.
If necessary, use a mild contact disinfectant or 70° alcohol.
In an institution, follow the recommendations of the hygiene
manager.
