2.0 Preparations for operation
2.1 Safety
The connection and installation of electrical products may be effected
only by a qualified electrician.
National regulations and current safety instructions
are to be observed.
Irrespective of elaborate protective measures, exceptionally strong
electromagnetic fields may lead to disruptions in the microprocessor-
controlled clock timer. Thus we recommend that you observe the fol-
lowing points before installation:
• Suppress inductive consumer loads using RC-filter
• Use separate line for operational voltage supply
• Do not install appliance close to sources of disruption, such as
transformers, contactors, PC and television appliances etc.
• Reset before using again after disruption.
2.2 Notes on controller installation
Installation
Install clock thermostat in the lowest field of a switching station or
at the end of a switching device series, in order to avoid disruptive
vibrations and high ambient temperatures.
Keep away from power devices.
Connections
Remote sensor control cables should not be laid together with
230/380V lines.
Control cables should have a maximum length of 50 m.
Laying connections
Information on laying connections for appliance series RAM 366 top
to remote sensors and telephone switches can be found in the
fold-out section at the end of the operating instructions.
Protective lid
To set temperature and time (Ch. 3 ff) remove transparent protective
lid. Push bottom edge of lid gently upwards.
