SAFETY GUIDE
Please follow all the safety precautions listed
below for safety and to reduce the risk of injury
or electrical shock.
Read all the instructions carefully before using •
your coee maker and keep them for future
reference.
This appliance is intended to be used in •
household and similar applications such
as: Sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and
other working environments; farm houses; by
clients in hotels, motels and other residential
type environments; bed and breakfast type
environments.
This appliance can be used by children aged •
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. •
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be •
made by children unless they are older than
8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of •
children less than 8 years.
Unplug the coee maker from the mains •
supply when not in use, or before cleaning
any part of the appliance.
This coee maker is for indoor use only. Do not •
use it outdoors.
Do not immerse the coee maker or the •
electrical cord or plug in liquids.
Do not use the coee maker near a source of •
heat or in damp or wet conditions or on an
unstable surface.
Make sure that the power cord does not touch •
any hot surface or overhang the edge of your
work surface.
When unplugging, hold the plug top, not the •
power cord.
Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug •
or after the appliance or any attachment has
been damaged. If the supply cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
Heating element surface is subject to residual •
heat after use.
Use the appliance according to this instruction, •
any misuse may cause electric shock or other
hazards.
Regarding how to clean the surfaces in contact •
food, please refer to section <Cleaning >.

OPERATING CAUTIONS
The water tank/s should be lled only with •
cold water.
Vessels used with this appliance must be •
heatproof and without cracks.
Do not use the coee maker for any purpose •
not expressly specied in this manual.
NEVER place foreign objects in the appliance or •
use accessories which are not recommended
by the manufacturer. They may cause
malfunction or injury.
Never open the lid to an angle of more than •
90º (vertical). The spray head may unclip.
Never open the lid when brewing coee.•
When Using the Percolator:
The hot plate and the coee pot become very •
hot, DANGER OF SCALDING!
Do not leave the unit on unless the pot contains •
coee and is on the hot plate.
Do not leave an empty carafe on a heated hot •
plate.
Surfaces on this appliance can get
hot during use.

COMPONENT IDENTIFICATION
PRELIMINARIES
The carton should contain:
Coee maker containing lter with holder
Jug
Measuring Spoon
If any items are missing or damaged, contact your nearest Tesco
store.
Remove all packaging from the coee maker. Retain the
packaging or dispose of it with regard to any recycling provisions
in your area.

BEFORE USING YOUR APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST
TIME:
Conrm that the mains voltage on the rating plate on the unit
is correct for your area.
Remove the jug, lter and lter holder.
Wash these items and the measuring spoon in warm soapy
water, rinse well with clear warm water and allow to dry.
Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.
Reassemble the unit.
PREPARING YOUR COFFEE MAKER
Place the coee maker on a rm stable worktop. Ensure that
there are no overhanging work cupboards or objects nearby
that can be damaged by heat or steam. Make sure you have
plenty of room to work and operate the machine.
Mains ON/OFF Button
Press to switch the machine ON.•
Press again to switch the machine OFF.•
OPERATION
To remove the lter:
Open the lid.•
Holding the tab (arrowed), lift out the lter holder with •
the lter inside.
To replace the Filter:
Place the lter holder in the machine with the tab to the •
rear right hand side as shown.
Place the lter in the holder and fold the handle (shaded •
in the image below) down.
Close the lid.•
NOTE: If the tab on the lter holder is incorrectly placed the lid
will not close.
Before using the Coee maker for the rst time:
The water tank has graduated levels corresponding to the
number of cups your coee maker can brew. Fill the tank with
fresh tap water up to the “10” (MAX) mark. Do NOT overll.
Close the tank lid. Ensure it locks into place.
Place the jug centrally on the hotplate. The spring valve in the
lter holder should engage with the aperture in the jug lid.
Press the Mains ON/OFF Button. The switch will light up showing
the unit is operational.
The water will now percolate through the lter and into the jug.
When the brewing cycle is complete (no more water entering
the jug), switch the machine o and empty the jug. Carry out 2
or 3 full cycles and then switch o the machine.

PREPARING COFFEE
Unplug the unit from the mains supply.•
Fill the water tank with fresh cold water to the level •
corresponding to the number of cups required.
You can use the jug which has a scale on the side for lling
if you wish.
Open the lid. •
Remove the lter and spoon in the required amount of •
coee grains - typically 6-7g. per cup, or to taste.
NOTE: One spoon is about 4g of coee.
Do not ll above the level of the gauze in the lter.
Place the lter holder in the unit and insert the lter into •
the lter holder.
Place the jug on the hot plate. •
Ensure that the hole in the lid of the jug engages with the
spring valve in the machine (arrowed) or the coee may not
ow properly.
When all the coee has run into the jug
Wait for one minute after all the coee has nished •
running into the jug.
Remove the jug and pour out the coee.•
After use switch the machine o and unplug from the •
mains supply.
NOTE: At any time during the brewing cycle you can temporarily
remove the jug to serve a cup of hot coee. The brewing
cycle will not be interrupted and no coee will drip from the
appliance. To restart the brewing cycle the jug must be replaced
in the machine within 30 sec.
WARNING: NEVER replace an empty jug on the hot plate while
it is hot or it may crack.
NOTE: When the brewing cycle is over the machine will
switch to a “keep warm state”. The hot plate will stay on for
40 minutes to keep the coee warm, after which time the
unit will switch o automatically.
Ideally coee should always be served as soon as possible after
brewing.
Points to remember when operating your Coee maker
Disposable lters if used should be specially made for •
coee makers - Tesco stores stock a range of suitable
lters. Use size 4 (10-12 cups).
Make sure you use coee specially ground for lter use.•
NEVER use the coee maker hotplate to warm drinks such •
as baby milk, etc.
CLEANING
Switch o and unplug the unit from the mains supply.
Allow the appliance to cool down fully.
Wipe the body with a clean damp cloth. Never use abrasive
cleaner, creams or scourers. Never immerse the appliance in
water when cleaning.
Wash the jug by hand in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly
and dry well.
Thoroughly rinse the plastic lter and holder several times
in clean water and allow to dry. Avoid strong detergents or
solvents or the taste of your coee may be aected.
When all the components are dry return them to their places
in the appliance.
For convenience you may store the measuring spoon in the jug.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVERFILL.
Close the lid.•
Plug the unit in and switch on at the mains.•
Press the ON/OFF button.•
The button will light up and the water will begin to heat.
Once the water has heated, the coee will begin to lter
through into the jug.

DESCALING THE COFFEE MAKER
Use a descaler recommended for Coee Makers.
Do not place the lter or the lter holder in the machine.1.
Fill the tank with water and descaler to the “10” level 2.
(approx.1.25L).
The proportion of water and descaler is 4:1, (or as directed in
the descaler instructions). Close the lid.
Place the jug centrally on the hotplate. 3.
The spring valve in the lter holder should engage with the
aperture in the jug lid.
Press the Mains On/O Button.4.
The button will light up showing the unit is operational.
The water will now percolate through the lter and into 5.
the jug.
When the equivalent of one cup has entered the jug, 6.
switch the machine o.
Leave the solution to work for 15 minutes.
Repeat steps 3-6 once more.7.
After the second operation, switch the appliance on 8.
and run o the water until the water tank is completely
empty.
Empty the jug.9.
Rinse the appliance by operating the brewing cycle using 10.
fresh water at least 3 times.
Switch the coee maker o, empty the jug, wash it 11.
thoroughly in warm soapy water and rinse it well.
When all the components are dry return them to their 12.
